📍La Macarena Pupuseria & Latin Cafe

We’ve found one of our new FAVORITESSSS 🤤🍴

La Macarena Pupuseria is a HIDDEN GEM in Uptown New Orleans! They didn’t miss— every dish was 10/10!

Here’s what we had:

🥑 Freshly made Guacamole (everything hand made in their kitchen— so fresh!)
🍟 Yuca Fries (servers choice & one of the best bites on the table)
🫓 Pupusas (the classic with cheese, beans, and pork)
🍗 Chicken Flautas (absolutely delish)

If you like Latin American food, you have to try this spot in Uptown! And if you get flooded in by the summer rains of New Orleans, know it’s deeper than it looks! 🌊

📍 Drip Affogato, Downtown New Orleans

Drip is the COOLEST Downtown hidden gem in New Orleans with a stunning cocktail selection, delicious and boozy affogato desserts, and all the funky, late night city vibes ✨🌃🌙🍸

🍨🥃 We got the Gris Gris “Affogato Creation” with banana brown sugar gelato, rum ball, bruleed banana, caramel rum drizzle, cinnamon dust, and crushed praline pecans! And of course, we had to upgrade it to the boozy versions with spiced rum 🍹

🍸 Here’s a few of their signature cocktails we tried:

📍Delacroix, Downtown New Orleans

Delacroix is one of our FAVORITE spots in New Orleans with views of the Mississippi River, the Downtown skyline, and steps away from the French Quarter! ⚜️🌃 It’s also a restaurant I’m so blessed to work for!

⭐️ Here’s everything we ate at Delacroix:

🌊 Seafood Plateau (literally everything on their raw bar menu)
🦀 Stone Crab Claws (such a treat 🤤)
🐠 Crispy Snapper Collars (go JUST for this dish— you won’t regret it)
🦪 Fire Roasted Louisiana Oysters
⚜️ Billy’s Smoked Duck Gumbo
🍔 Double Burger Royale (insanely good)
🐟 Turtle Sauce Piquante & Catfish (my favorite dish at Delacroix)
🍨 Big Daddy’s Brownie
🥧 Apple Cranberry Hand Pie (just wow)

🎃👻 Uptown New Orleans October adventures:

💀 Visit the Skeleton House on St. Charles!!!
Every year they put up the most creative, funny, and detailed display in their front yard with bone tickling references (ba dum ding) to celebrities, movies, and pop culture!

🎃 Go to the pumpkin patch at St. Andrews on S. Carrollton!
This is the largest pumpkin patch in the New Orleans area right on the lawn of St, Andrews Church! Our record pumpkin we’ve ever gotten was around 38lbs, but they’ve had some reach 50lbs and more!
It’s open every day until Halloween!

August in August ✨ We got to try their Carte Blanche menu on the last day they were serving it— Carte Blanche means “total freedom” and the Chefs curated a new menu each week and got to express their creativity with all of the seasonal ingredients! ⚜️

📍Peche, Downtown New Orleans

One of our ALL-TIME FAVS & we brought the whole fam along for this one! 🤤👏🏼

⭐️ Here’s all we ate at Peche:

🥖 Fried Bread Balls (one of our favorite bites from Peche! You HAVE to try these)
🦪 Oysters (Brightsides, Murder Points, LA Gulf, & more 🤤)
🐠Baked Drum w/ saffron, peas + artichoke (insanely delicious! 🤤)
🐟 Grilled Tuna w/ okra, tomato + chili garlic (literally the best tuna we’ve ever had!)

Overall, 10000/10 experience AS ALWAYS! Peche never misses— there’s a reason you have to get reservations weeks in advance for this place! 🐟⚜️🦪👏🏼

🎂 Birthday dinner at GW Fins ⚜️✨

This was a dinner for the BOOKS! 🤤 Shoutout to our waitor Kenneth for being so amazing and singing a special happy birthday song to me! 🤍

⭐️ Here’s all we ate at GW Fins:

🍗 Tempura Fin Wings (their specialty— it’s like a fried snapper collar with a Korean glaze & AMAZING 🤤)
🌮 Shashimi Grade Firecrakcer Tuna Tacos (one of our favorite bites!! Like a sushi roll in a taco)
🐠 Scalibut (a GW Fins original—halibut with sea scallops seared onto it— 10000/10)
🐟 Paramsean Crusted Drum (CAN’T BEAT A DRUM THIS WAS OUR FAVORITE)
🍰 Salty Malty Ice Cream Pie (one of their top sellers, and we KNOW WHY)
🥥 Coconut on the Half Shell (coconut sorbet with a chocolate shell— absolutely delish!)

The service, atmosphere, and food were outstanding at GW Fins! It definitely lived up to the hype! They even gave me a special birthday menu with my name and birthday on it! 10000000/10 experience!

✨COOLinary at Sylvain, French Quarter, New Orleans

This is hands down one of the best COOLinary menus in town! We loved it so much, we LITERALLY had to hug the Chef afterwards! 🤤

Here’s what we had:

🦐 Shrimp Remoulade over Fried Green Tomatoes
🥗 Green Cabbage Salad (literally the best and most surprising bite! We put it over everything!)
🥩 Slow Cooked Shortrib
🐠 Blackened Gulf Fish (one of the best dishes we’ve ever tasted)
🍫 Nutella Chocolate Tart
🍓 Strawberry Shortcake (paired so well with the dessert wine!)

COOLinary lasts all August long so try it while you can! Sylvain offers a 3-course menu & 2 options per course— which between the two of us, we tried it all! Everything was beyond spectacular! 100000000/10! ✨👏🏼

White Linen Night 🤍✨🥂

Every year on the first Saturday of August Julia St. transforms into a full block party festival with live music, street vendors, and local artists 🤍🎨🍾

This is one of the most fun local events that we look forward to every year!! The tradition is to wear your white linens for the first Saturday, and wear them again for Dirty Linen night the week after!

📍Feliciana, Covington, LA ✨

Feliciana is definitely THE BEST and most charming spot on the Northshore, and one of the restaurant I’m blessed to work for, so yes, I’m biased 🤤🥂👏🏼

We literally ate our hearts out! Here’s all we had at Feliciana:

🐟 Caviar Service (with all the fixings)
🦀 Blue Crab Beignets
🐙 Carpaccio D’Octopus (like an octopus ceviche)
🥓 BLT Amuse
🐚 Scallops on the Half-Shell
🍅 Shrimp-stuffed Tomato
🦞 Gnocchi de Paris
🐠 Sole fish special (very rare and only 6 of them were available that night!)
🥩 Côtelette de Veau Pannée (Veal with chanterelles)
🫐 Blueberry Pavlova

Everything was FANTASTIC! Feliciana is truly one of the best restaurants on the planet and every single bite was 10/10! You have to put this one on your list! 🤤
