Our hearts are broken. Shattered.

We rescued Charley when she was just 8 weeks old. It was love at first sight, the 1st night of Hanukkah & the greatest gift Lish ever gave me.

Charley was sweet, gentle and precious. She smiled at everyone she met and kissed them right after. Charley was love. Pure unconditional love.

She loved Elephant, bacon from the Farmers Market, sleeping in our bed, snuggling, leaning, playing “go get it” & taking long walks. She liked the beach but never liked to swim.

We took her everywhere we could. She loved to travel. She loved being with us and we never wanted to be without her.

Charley was beautiful. She had model legs, the softest fur, perfect little ears, a gorgeous tail and the deepest brown eyes that looked straight into your soul.

She was our constant. Our baby. Our family. Our best friend. She was so loved. And she loved so much.

Charley lived until she was 14 years old. Seems like a long time but it is nowhere near enough.

New York Pt 2 : Brooklyn Museum. BAM. The High Line. Art on the walls, in the galleries and right there on the streets.

And on September 11, walking to the site of the Twin Towers, we ducked into a church and found a memorial service honoring the lives lost 25 years ago. We hadn’t planned it. But somehow, that unexpected stop became one of the moments we’ll remember most.

I’ll never forget where I was 25 years ago. I’m still haunted by the images I saw that day. The disbelief, the fear, the heartbreak, the unimaginable loss & the feeling that the world had suddenly changed forever.

Standing here with @pmplish at the 9/11 Memorial today, seeing the names and feeling the enormity of what happened, is something so overwhelming & emotional.

We remember the lives lost and the courage & humanity that followed. I’m reminded that some things we never get over. We simply carry them with us.

Some traditions are worth holding onto.
Tables overflowing with food. Laughter that never stops. Friends who are family. And fireworks that continuously light up the sky.

Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who is beautiful, fun, caring, generous, and genuinely one of the funniest people I know.
Some of my favorite childhood memories will always be sitting on your bed while you played guitar and we sang together — moments that felt so simple then, but mean everything to me now.
Thank you @eunicerice307 for filling my life with laughter, music, warmth and love in all the ways you do. I’m endlessly lucky to call you Mom & profoundly grateful for all the time we spend together.

Patricia finally joined Club 60 and is more beautiful, more vibrant and more herself than ever.

We celebrated in Palm Springs … sun, pool, lunches that casually turned into all-day affairs and dinners that no one wanted to end. Margaritas in the day. Wine at night. Crowns for hours 🌴☀️👙🍋‍🟩🍷🃏
