'Up there in the cotton sky'

When you lose someone you love, something disconnects inside, shatters into a thousand pieces, evaporates, disintegrates into microscopic, irreparable wounds… you lose your gravity. You don't understand the normality of the world out there; it feels foreign, alien, empty… free fall, here I come.

I am a being that wanders between the space of things that no longer exist and the inertia of a present that feels indifferent and cruel to me.

The sky, overflowing with longings, with cotton wool from better times, with sighs of emotion, with affection that serves as an infallible oasis and refuge, finds me searching for someone who disappeared from the geography that separates, divides, and constructs us, someone who gained wings to embark on the eternal flight of love. To all those souls we love beyond conceivable limits, who have gone ahead on the journey to another dimension, whom we only see in fragments of Polaroid film, in sweet dreams, and every time we close our eyes to the wind, I have reserved a specific and eternal place in the core of my heart and soul.

The first time I heard 'The Pit' I felt that this song would become something more than just my favorite song of 2026. It is a beautiful, profound metaphor for loss. That's what my heart felt. It is a comfort, a light... it is beauty; it is an absolute. It was written by the incredible band @brigittecallsmebaby

If you haven't heard it, go give it a listen—you’ll love it. It is part of 'IRREVERSIBLE', their latest album (which is also my favorite of 2026).

'Distance'

Routines that seem to automate everything, I have already begun to feel some sympathy and affection towards them. Here things move so frenetically and relentlessly, while I, on the contrary, feel distant and lethargic. Maybe it’s this thing about leaving behind everything I hold dear, and that goes far beyond a great geographical distance. I’m telling you, my ideas have evolved. The landscape of a cliclé in a picturesque enchanted forest turned into a postcard has given my afternoons of research and creation, the necessary intimacy to think a little about everything and sometimes about you.

'She whispered this to the wind'

I like the smell of the cold, how that coppery, fragile leaf pays homage to the melancholy of early autumn… and you. You and your many goodbyes, transformed into near and undefined hellos. I can't bear it when the rain suddenly decides to become something more than icy drops of oblivion. The harsh wink of the headwind, and the dance of words swaying in sharp uncertainty. This, and the irony of life around every corner, slows down the romantic notion of starting over. I don't understand how the atoms of my suffering, of my skin in constant protest, and of my breath, ragged by everything and nothing, haven't disintegrated. The key is to walk with the wind, never against it. But it will be a difficult test to overcome.

'Oliver'

Oliver is an incredible new drummer. I first discovered him playing Matt Johnson's drumming on Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye," and I've been a fan ever since.

From the biggest bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Who, Radiohead, The Police, Grateful Death, Supertramp, and more, he displays a very unique style and impressive skills to play them.

So follow his journey now, thank me later! @wrighty_drums

Support legendary bands, but also don't forget to support new talent too.

Oh, and it was a challenge for me to portray him with his drum kit, something I hadn't attempted before🙋🏻‍♀️

'Hey, pick up the phone, it's Jeff'

If I talk about Jeff Buckley, I don't exactly know where to begin. I promise to be brief. It wasn't before or after; he came into my life at precisely the perfect moment. He unsettled me, threw me off balance, revolutionized more than one theory I held firmly, and humanized my perspective on the world/people. I heard him once—I think it was "Grace" that was the first song—and it was first listen love. Once you listen to his voice, chords, lyrics... there will be no turning back. Poetry in motion, a sublime echo surrounding all your senses, an overflowing passion unfolds that lifts your feet off the ground, leaving you wondering whether it was a dream or the product of a beautiful hallucination... a whole sentiment of love. Jeff Buckley is more than an impressive, unique, and irreplaceable artist; he's a philosophy of life, a vibe, a beautiful magic that seeps through your bloodstream and penetrates your soul. Thank you forever, yes, you, the one and only, Jeff Buckley❤️

'Without wings'

Have you ever felt it? Have you ever wept for no apparent reason? How many times did you want to fly—and actually manage to do so? I was always there; did you even notice?
Yesterday, I saw you in my dreams. I held you so tightly I thought you might disintegrate from the intensity of my embrace. Then you vanished... just like that. Yet, I can still feel the warmth of your body resting upon my shoulders. Perhaps I haven't fully woken up. Perhaps you didn't want to leave. I promise not to cry again—without having resolved my longing, my pain, or whatever makes my spirit limp—unless it all ends with a smile whispering that you are okay; that you plan to visit me when everything looks spectacular, or when the sky grows heavy with black clouds and the honey has turned sour... that is when you will be there, right on the edge of that tear which has not yet decided whether to follow the path of pain or the path of relief...

'Sabotage'

I don’t know if I’m making progress or if I’ve completely stalled. I think the question I posed makes that clear. I’m in absolute limbo. In that uncertainty that takes no risks but gains nothing neither. The river flows, the birds sing, and evening falls around 6 p.m. And I still haven’t decided whether to start living or with an inert drowsiness that sees life with half-open eyes and faded energy.

The coffee has gone cold, my dog has lain down on the rug like a ton of weariness and boredom. I just look at him listlessly. We’ve teamed up again: we’ve let our guard down. Will someone come to challenge us, or will we remain buried alive?

'Coltrane & Evans'

I wanted to call him. I longed to call him now. To hear his voice and begin weaving stories of exchanged glances, stolen kisses, and the occasional painful truth, face to face. Because without two or three truths, life becomes a boring fantasy.

Finally, I call him after overthinking it a million times beforehand. I imagined two hundred thousand conversations about the times I listen to Coltrane's "In Sentimental Mood," and I think about how he keeps his hands in his pockets as he goes for walks to clear his mind, talk to those who are absent, and smile at his puppy as he teaches it to take its first steps.

It started to rain, and suddenly this dramatic, aesthetically pleasing reality shattered.

Last year he gifted me a passage to the secret tunnel of my deepest emotions, melting my tears with Bill Evans. I was lost in it for the first few minutes. But soon after, following two reproaches, an apology that never came and that I had to invent, and three air kisses, I found him.

'Music'

A short story about music, not rhetorical, but subjective and sentimental. And I think: I feel like a solitary sailboat in the middle of a raging sea, my hair disheveled, shouting to the wind that I love someone from afar, that I go mad for not being able to wrap my arms around him every time my heart overflows when his name and essence brush against my thoughts. My dispair, powerlessness, and passion dance to the rhythm of a now calm wind, while the afternoon falls, biting its lips amidst violet and pink sighs.

I discovered @brigittecallsmebaby recently, and they instantly became one of my favorite bands. They released their incredible album 'Irreversible' this year, which is my absolute favorite of 2026. Highly recommended—and please, check out the impressive vocals of their frontman, @wesleavins (headphones required)... Wow!!!✨
