𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬, 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦

The first-ever Para Hockey World Cup has come to an end here in Louvain-la-Neuve.

And honestly… we will never forget this week.

Three years ago, it was still a dream, almost a crazy bet. We wanted to give these athletes a real World Cup. Not a small competition held alongside the able-bodied World Cup. Their World Cup, with everything they deserve.

But very quickly, this week went far beyond sport. Suddenly, no one was talking about disability anymore. We were just talking about sport, friendship, and the joy of being together.

We thought we were going to experience a great sporting competition. We didn't imagine we would experience such a wave of emotions.

There were smiles everywhere. Embraces. Incredible moments of togetherness. And so many tears, tears of joy, of happiness, sincere and pure. It was beautiful. It was powerful. It was magical.

Thank you to these athletes. They gave us the greatest lesson of the week. We thought we were offering them a World Cup. They gave us something far more precious in return: a life lesson. Their spontaneity, their joy, their lack of judgment, their happiness in simply sharing a moment together, we, the "able-bodied," have so much to learn from them.

So today, more than anything, we want to say thank you. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for letting us step into your world, if only for a few days. And thank you for reminding us that difference isn't always where we think it is.

A huge thank you as well to the 170 volunteers who made this memorable adventure possible, to our partners, and to our Dream Team: Justine, Alice, Tom, and Gilles. You know what these three years have meant.

The road to a truly inclusive society is still long. To change the way we see disability, we must first show these athletes, their talent, their joy.

This World Cup was our contribution to that aspiration.
