Fun fact :

As a person who walked into an open mic for the first time 10 years ago as #JustAFan supporting a friend of mine and no intention of being a performer, I've never been able to shake my fan first mentality.

If I see a lineup of people that I would watch on a show, I don't NEED to be on that show. That show is good enough 💖 being invited to contribute is just a bonus 😁

Of course having no intention of being a performer meant that when I was finally encouraged to give it a try, it took me a lot longer to learn the trade that it might have others who either had a natural gift for it or at least knew that's what they wanted to do when they walked in the door.

And for my first two years, I had no business being in front of an audience. I was not good at all, & aware of that enough to not ask for any opportunities or seek any opportunities and risk making a bad first impression that could make getting a 2nd opportunity even harder.

And while a lot of people will only seen me in the last few years may find it difficult to believe that there was a time where I was not getting booked and not funny enough to deserve it, that was very much the truth at one point. Hell depending on who you ask it might still be the truth 😅

But definitely not as much as it was back then 😁

A lot of newer comedians find themselves frustrated because they're not getting booked as much as they think they should or as much as others are. My mentality when I first started was, I don't care about getting booked, I care about getting better. Because getting better will get you booked, but also getting better will ensure that you have something to present on stage when you get the opportunity in order to keep those opportunities coming. It was about working on the craft, not padding the stats for bragging rights with no substance to justify them.

& If I gave up with in my first year because I didn't get the opportunities I thought I deserved, I wouldn't go on to have had the years that I've had since my second year when I was finally ready and consistent enough to earn them and keep them 🥹

You do with that what you will ☺️

If I had to point to a single moment where everybody decided that I should become a part of the reoccurring @madeupcomedyshow roster....

.... It had to be last December at the Moxy Hotel opposite Patrick McKinstry 💜💖

Honestly I'm not sure if I've had a single moment on this show that has topped this 😅

To the dragon we'll keep chasing forever...

One of the highlights of my month is going to be making my debut for @imposterlaughs in one of my childhoods stomping grounds of Roxbury Massachusetts 😁💖

and we're just over 24 hours away from that event, getting to do so with some of my favorite comedians in the city.

There's not much talking left to do about it..... Extremely grateful for the opportunity and the time is drawing near, there's gonna be a link in my stories/comments (FB) if you'd like to join us 😃🩵
