The team had a great time helping out the Beech Mtn Parks & Rec Dept for Mountain Day of Service. We had a chance to hear Jeff Corwin speak on campus and then we headed up the mtn. We helped clean up the area around Lake Coffey. The team pulled debris from the lake, poured foundations for a bridge, filled holes with gravel, and spread grass seed to help with erosion. Many areas around the High Country are still dealing with the remnants of Helene. We’re happy to partner up with the town of Beech Mountain and provide help where it’s needed. by @lmc_snowsquad

We’re happy to announce that one of our riders, Nathan DeVito @natejagoman, qualified to compete at the 2026 Junior World Championships held in Folgaria, Italy! Nathan competed on both the Lees-McRae team and on the FIS NorAm circuit this winter season. He has put in a lot of hard work this year and it’s paying off. We’re all wishing Nathan the best of luck in Italy. We know he’s going to do great representing not only the college, but our entire nation! #fissnowboardworldchampionships #folgaria @ussnowboardracingteam @nbs_snow @funtastik_skatensnow @sgsnowboards @manis_optics @upzboots @blackski_inc @skinoir5280 @kldevito by @lmc_snowsquad
On the final day of USCSA Nationals at Whiteface Mtn Resort, the team competed in snowboard giant slalom and freeski big air. The women’s snowboard team won their giant slalom competition to give the team their second National Title of the week. Nicole Yoos got on the podium finishing in 3rd overall. Teammates Abigail Byrd, Anna Craver, Shelby Knaak, and Sophie Young came in 7th, 13th, 15th, and 26th respectively. The men’s team also captured their second National Title of the week beating the field to claim 1st place overall in their giant slalom competition. Luke Koch finished in 2nd overall. Teammates, Nathan DeVito, Owen Gordon, Spencer Gibson, and Luke Elting placed in 5th, 7th, 11th, and 21st overall. To have four athletes finish in the top 11 places in the nation is amazing. Even though the snowboard team won TWO National Titles today, their effort was outshone by ONE Max Ligman. He threw and landed his first ever attempt at a 720. That’s two complete rotations in the air, for his first time ever, at USCSA Nationals, on LIVE broadcast! I’m beyond proud of what this team has accomplished this year. Although it’s the end of our competitive season, we still have more good news to share from our time in Lake Placid. Stay tuned… by @lmc_snowsquad
The men’s and women’s snowboard teams competed in slopestyle today. The women got on the podium in 3rd place overall and the men just missed it by coming in 4th in the team competition. Leading the way for the women was Nicole Yoos. Nicole made it to the final field of 10, finishing 5th in the finals. Just behind her was Sophie Young coming in 11th. Teammates Shelby Knaak and Anna Craver also finished in 20th & 23rd respectively. Owen Gordon made it to the final of the men’s field, coming in 9th overall. His teammates Luke Elting, Luke Koch, Gavin Seddon, and Nathan DeVito finished in 16th, 23rd, 26th, and 30th places. Tomorrow will be the final day of competition for these Nationals. The snowboard team will compete in giant slalom and freeski will have big air. 📸 @corey__goldberg by @lmc_snowsquad
The team competed in snowboard slalom and freeski slopestyle today The conditions were rough on the slalom course, with the overnight freezing rain. However, it’s nothing we can’t handle. The women’s team finished in first place overall. Led by Nicole Yoos’ 2nd place finish, teammates Abi Byrd and Shelby Knaak came in 4th and 16th. It was close, but they bested San Diego State by less than 1.5 secs to claim the team’s first National Championship of the week. The men’s team also finished in first place overall. Led by Nathan DeVito’s 2nd place finish, teammates Luke Koch, and Owen Gordon came in 4th and 6th respectively. Having 3 athletes finish in the top six from the same team is an incredible accomplishment. It’s also the main reason they were able to dominate the field by over 30secs, earning the team’s second National Championship of the week. The awards were handed out for men’s snowboard rail jam. Owen Gordon and Nathan DeVito were 12th & 13th. The team just missed the podium coming in 4th overall We’ll post more about Max Ligman in freeski slopestyle after the results are final. The snowboard team will compete in slopestyle next. 📸 @corey__goldberg by @lmc_snowsquad
