Reposting one of my fav’s, a fun little illustration of Waterfront Park and the Big Four Bridge in downtown Louisville.

Fun fact- this place holds a special place in my heart because my now husband asked me to be his girlfriend while taking a sunset stroll across this bridge a few summers ago. Now we’re married with two kiddos 🌉👩🏼‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻

1. Hi! Some of you are new here, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lauren and I’m the artist behind the local Louisville landmarks and other illustrations on this page.

2. I’ve been a self proclaimed artist ever since I could pick up a pencil.

3. Coloring was my favorite activity as a child, which led me to enter a lot of grade school art contests. I even had a day named after me when I won a coloring contest in Indiana in 1999 (or so they had me believe 🤪).

4. My favorite mediums were graphite pencil and acrylic paint, up until 2022 when I discovered Procreate, a creative digital drawing app on my iPad that has led me to the digital drawings and illustrations you see on this page.

5. My favorite things to draw and paint are portraits, homes, historical places, and all things local that connect our community and culture.

6. Fun fact: I created my own little art gallery at my wedding last October that featured a music festival lineup poster (which was our guest book), movie cover, playing card, comic book cover, event poster, and newspaper article.

7. You can find my prints and stickers by visiting the link in my bio, or by keeping an eye out for some future announcements. You may see me at a craft show near you soon👀.

Take a trip down Whiskey Row 🥃🌇

Over 40 hours went into this drawing, not including the time I forced my husband to take me downtown so I could get all the reference photos needed for this famous tourist attraction in Louisville. Love the way it turned out and am super proud of this one🎨

Life Update: still drawing✍️

Sorry I’ve been MIA😅 Social media has never been my favorite, and constantly creating content feels exhausting. Balancing work, motherhood, fitness, creativity and everything in between doesn’t always leave a lot of extra space.

I’ve decided this page is simply a place where I share what I create in my spare time — even if that spare time is few and far between.

With that said… here’s a few houses I’ve done recently🤍 taken in Louisville, Kentucky by @lmosesfinearts

✨This weeks local landmark ✨

Summertime in Spencer

This drawing feels close to home in more ways than one. Every day, I drive past this farm and witness the quiet transformation of the field through the seasons. These barns are more than just structures; they are a cherished landmark to our town and a symbol of our region’s rich farming heritage. Each season brings a new story to this farm, reminding me of the beauty and resilience of the land we call home.

Ive got big dreams for 2026, and it starts with building a portfolio. Really leaning into impressionism and this bright, bold fundamental color palette🎨. taken in Spencer County by @lmosesfinearts

Spencer County Octoberfest!!
I appreciate all the people who popped in to say hi and support yesterday 🫶🏼
It’s always fun getting to share my art and connect with others on different pieces. Sold some prints, sold some stickers, learned a few things about booth set up and what I’d do differently next time, but the highlight was seeing my son ride past my booth in the parade with his football team🏈.

I’ve got one more holiday market planned this year on Nov 29th at Events on Main in Taylorsville. Stay tuned for updates on that, but until then, back to the drawing board✌️🎨 by @lmosesfinearts

This week’s local landmark: the Louisville Palace Theatre

In September of 1928, the Palace Theatre held its grand opening as a luxurious movie theatre designed by John Eberson, a famous architect known for his movie palace designs and atmospheric style. The Palace exhibits a Spanish Baroque motif with arcades, balconies, and turrets throughout the building. Some of its notable features inside include a curved vaulted ceiling with 139 sculptures of faces of historical people, detailed ornamentation, and a cobalt blue ceiling imitating a night sky in the theatre room.

The theatre has hosted many iconic musicians over the years, such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Prince, and Lizzo, alongside Kentucky favorites like John Prine, My Morning Jacket, and Jack Harlow.

After a period of closures and new ownership’s, the Palace Theatre was purchased by Live Nation in 2005 and now serves as an event and concert venue holding 2800 people.

The Palace Theatre is the only remaining cinema of its era in all of Louisville and is an absolute must see historical landmark.
