Slow but steady runner who has completed over 640 road races since 2013!
POSTS STORIES REELS
I am thrilled and honored to announce that I am one of the 26 athletes @nyrr has named to this year's Team Inspire for the 2025 @nycmarathon -- more info at the end of this post! Each of us was picked because we have an inspirational story behind our running. I may not be young or fast or have a "runner's body," but I have run over 640 races since 2013, after a lifetime of being a couch potato, and completely transformed my life. I hope my story can help inspire others to run, too! I recently found an email I sent to a reporter way back in 2016, just before my very first time running the TCS New York City Marathon. He asked what I hoped to achieve in my first-ever marathon. I responded, "I do feel like I'm running this race for not just myself, but for everybody else who were told they were too slow, too fat, too unathletic, or too unworthy to run. I want to inspire those people just starting out in the back of the pack. If I can finish this race, then I can show them that people like me can get off the couch, set a goal, and achieve something that seemed impossible just a few months ago." Those words still hold true today! https://www.nyrr.org/media-center/2025-team-inspire-at-the-tcs-new-york-city-marathon https://www.nyrr.org/media-center/press-release/2025_1006_tcsnycmteaminspire #TeamInspire #tcsnycmarathon by @lmswansi

This really screws over the Yankee fans who bought tickets for CC's retirement ceremony and don't get to go. But that's what this organization does -- screw fans over because they can -- and why I'm not spending a dime on them until Cashman/Boone are gone. by @lmswansi

From NYRR's Instagram story about Club Night. Still pretty stoked about this honor. (Yes, I know my name is misspelled here but it is correct on my award!) by @lmswansi
So I got the Ted Corbitt Award tonight from New York Road Runners for having run more NYRR races than anyone in 2025 -- 208 miles! Yes, that's from Tiffany's! by @lmswansi
Today is Giving Tuesday and I am asking for donations for NYRR #teamforkids so I can run the Manhattan 10k this year. I only need to raise $100 so I am hoping I can get this achieved quickly! Here's the link to my donation page and photos from running the race in 2024! Thank you! https://fundraisers.nyrr.org/lisa-swan by @lmswansi
I've pretty much kept quiet about doing this marathon but now it's in the books! Every Woman's Marathon is my 19th marathon! by @lmswansi
