From the Archive: Sinatra Opera Spring 2024

The spring performance was a rendition of Pauline Viardot’s salon opera Cendrillon, the story of Cinderella.

Written for piano and voice, this French setting of the beloved fairy tale was sung in English featuring two casts. It was weekend of magic and deception, where love triumphed over adversity.

LMU Dance has launched a redesigned curriculum with three distinct pathways for students. 💃

Students can build a strong foundation while exploring performance, choreography, education, social impact and more, all with Los Angeles as an extension of the classroom.

With a more flexible approach, LMU Dance is preparing the next generation of artists for where dance can take them.

From the Archive: Art History Trip to the Norton Simon Museum

Our first post in this series revisits a 2024 trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena as part of Professor Melody Rod-ari’s "Who Owns Art?" First Year Seminar course.

The class examines the history of collecting art, as well as specific ongoing cultural patrimony cases. The visit helped students to think critically about art and examine the topic of art repatriation from multiple, nuanced vantage points.

The "Who Owns Art?" course will be offered and taught by Professor Rod-ari again in Spring 2027.

Linda Cardellini earned her first Emmy for her performance in “DTF St. Louis” and Kelly Younger was part of the Emmy-winning writing team behind “The Muppet Show.”
