This Unown V is such a cool card. The artwork is really different, with all the Unown scattered across the map and the big one standing out at the front. Definitely one of those cards that looks even better when you see it up close. Love the unique style on this one! 👀

Another newer one I’ve picked up recently ✨ This Cleffa is such a simple card, but the artwork is class. The little Cleffa under the night sky with all the colours shining through just looks so good in person. Definitely one of those cards that catches your eye straight away. 🌈⭐

This Ninetales is such a nice card, the artwork really stands out with the golds and the way it’s sitting in the forest. The holo looks even better in person too. Definitely one of my favourites from the newer cards I’ve picked up recently. ✨🦊

✨ Latias from Crown Zenith’s Galarian Gallery is another modern card that I really like, along with most if not all of the cards from the set. Such a unique art style it feels more like a piece of artwork than a Pokémon card. Definitely one of those cards that catches your eye straight away.

I don’t think Entei gets enough love. 🔥

Suicune always seems to steal the spotlight, and Raikou gets plenty of attention too, but Entei has always been my favorite of the legendary beasts.

This Entei from Paldean Fates is a great example of why I’ve started mixing more modern cards into my collection. The artwork is clean, the shiny effect looks great in person, and it captures everything that makes Entei such an iconic Pokémon.

It’s nice to take a break from vintage every now and then and appreciate what Pokémon is putting out today.

Jigglypuff ✨💖

Sometimes you don’t need crazy artwork or an expensive chase card to have a favorite. This Jigglypuff from Paldean Fates is just… happy. The sparkle background, the little smile, and the simple design make it one of those cards that’s impossible to scroll past.

I’ve been mixing more modern cards into my posts recently, and it’s reminded me how much personality Pokémon has been putting into these illustration cards. They feel fun in a completely different way to the vintage cards I usually collect.

Also, can we all agree that “Stompy Stomp” is one of the funniest attack names they’ve come up with? 😂

I don’t care what anyone says… Ditto always gets a spot in my collection. 💙

Whether it’s a vintage card or a modern illustration rare, Pokémon always seems to nail Ditto’s artwork. This one from Paldean Fates is no exception. It’s simple, it’s goofy, and somehow it’s one of those cards you can’t help but smile at.

Not every chase card has to look fierce or dramatic. Sometimes a little blue blob surrounded by stars steals the show.

I’ve been mixing in a few more modern cards recently, and it’s reminded me just how good the artwork has become over the last few sets.

Thought I’d switch things up for a change. 🎨✨

I’ve been sharing a lot of vintage EX-era cards lately, but every now and then a modern card deserves some attention too.

This Special Illustration Rare Miriam from Scarlet & Violet is one of my favorite modern Trainer cards. The artwork by Akira Komayama has so much going on, but it never feels cluttered. It tells a story instead of just being a cool picture, and I think that’s what makes it stand out.

As much as vintage will always have my heart, it’s hard to ignore how good some of the newer illustration rares have become.

So… if you had to choose one, are you collecting vintage, modern, or a bit of both? 👀
