dishoom needs no introducing somehow my friends visiting from abroad can never get enough so here’s my guide on what I order - def recommend going in a group to tackle as many dishes as you can. Below order is perfect for 4-6 people - - House Chaat - Okra Fries - Vada Pau - like an Indian burger with a spicy potato fritter served in a small bun - Keema Pau - spiced minced meat version - Murgh Malai - the most tender grilled chicken thigh 🔥 - Chicken Ruby - Dishoom’s take on butter chicken - Black Daal - would be rude not to - Goan Monkfish Curry - if you’re up for something a bit different and pretty spicy (but worth it) - Mattar Paneer - can’t say no to paneer - some garlic naan and steamed basmati rice - Basmati Kheer - my favorite dessert - rice pudding with blueberry 🫐 - Mango & Fennel Lassi 🥭 - Chai (oat and chocolate options available too!) edit : note to self to try gunpowder potatoes next time! + lamb shank if in the King’s Cross Branch taken in Dishoom Carnaby by @lndntime

get in my @belly_bistro celebrated a milestone occasion at London’s trendiest Filipino bistro and what a treat it was from the friendliest staff to a menu full of exciting must-try dishes with punchy flavours - I would highly recommend belly lowkey vibes and a cozy setting makes it perfect for an unpretentious date night // I will most definitely be back to try their mango brûlée which I got yelled at by a friend for not getting we ordered: - Smoked Trout Kinilaw - a fresher dish similar to ceviche! ⭐️ - Tempura Cod Pandesal - their take on a filet o fish on steroids ⭐️ - Cured Scallops ‘Bicol Express’ - that sauce!!! ⭐️ - Oak Smoked ‘Tinola’ Herb Chicken - delicious and generous portions but less of a standout only bc the flavours were more familiar compared to their other dishes - Seafood ‘Caldereta’- the amount of seafood and flavour packed in this dish! ⭐️ - Frozen Custard Profiterole with fish sauce caramel - loved the saltiness from the fish sauce! taken in Kentish Town by @lndntime

it’s giving every possible angle you could give tried the oh so viral @fromtheashesbbq over in Bethnal Green for some barbecue 🍖🥩🍩 ✅ accessible via transport & near station ✅ outdoor and (covered) seating while still taking in the sun ✅ hearty portions and just enough options ✅ dog friendly 🐾 we ordered: - smoked beef strip loin - classic but not our fave this time round! town restaurant dump 🌱 tried the new pre-theatre menu at 📍town – 3 courses for £32, available at lunch (12-3pm) or early dinner (5-6pm) (even on weekends 👏) such a good deal for the covent garden/holborn area. food was tasty, portions just a little on the smaller side. ++ bonus points for the vibes though – a lovely spot if you want somewhere nicer for a catch up or drinks with friends we ordered: - Radish with a miso sauce - sauce was good but overall this felt a bit random? Straight up raw radish 🫜 - Steak Tartare - solid but def on the smaller side - Rump Steak with swiss chard green sauce and Town gravy - Boat Fish with marinated courgettes and spiced peppers - would recommend! - Buttermilk Pudding, peaches in rosé, raspberries, almonds - would recommend! nice and summery 🌞 taken in Town Restaurant by @lndntime

/wednesday night edition I usually stick to the same 2 or 3 spots in Chinatown mainly because of decision paralysis but mi canteen offers all your comfort classics as well as an expansive noodle menu including their Chongqing hot pot 🔥 quiet casual interiors perfect for a fuss free feast we ordered : - Hotpot (oilier spicy broth) with sweet potato noodle (chewy af but in a good way), dried tofu skin, snowflake beef slice, chinese cabbage, mushroom 🥘 - Crushed cucumber with green pepper 🥒 - Fried green bean with minced pork 🫛 - Sichuan pork dumplings in chili oil 🥟 📍Mi Canteen, Chinatown @micanteen [invite] taken in Chinatown, London by @lndntime

not sure what to order at KBBQ? I too was overwhelmed with all the options but start with these classics: 1. Pork Belly (Samgyeopsal) Unmarinated thick-cut pork, grilled until golden. Crispy edges, rich flavor - a classic for a reason 🥓 2. Bulgogi Thin slices of beef marinated in soy, garlic, and sesame. Slightly sweet, super tender 🍖 3. Marinated Short Ribs (LA Galbi) Beef short ribs with a sweet-soy marinade. Grilled until caramelized and juicy 🥩 4. Spicy Pork (Dwaejigogi) Pork marinated in gochujang-based sauce. Spicy and perfect with rice or lettuce wraps. 🌶️ — ✨ Also worth ordering: • Kimchi – Fermented cabbage with chili. Spicy, tangy, and served with nearly every dish - comes in different forms too as you can see in the vid • Kimchi Pancake – Savory pancake with chopped kimchi. Crisp outside, soft inside. Bonus option to get the seafood one too 🍤 • Japchae – Stir-fried glass noodles with veggies. Slightly sweet and chewy. • Tteokbokki – Chewy rice cakes in sweet-spicy chili sauce. Great as a starter or side. • Naengmyeon (Cold Noodles) – Buckwheat noodles in icy broth or spicy sauce. Refreshing and light, especially after grilling and perfect for the summer ☀️ — Ordered all this and more at Sagye in Imperial Wharf - lovely Korean neighbourhood restaurant with sleek interiors. Food is solid across the board- both for their bbq and other cooked dishes with great value.
