Second test on the symbiote effect in Houdini.

This time I managed to get it working on a moving model. It was more complicated, especially the animation part, but once that was figured out, the setup was already done, so it went pretty smoothly.

Really happy with how this test turned out.

WIP — Spider-Man 3 Symbiote 🕷️

Testing the symbiote whip effect from Spider-Man 3 in Houdini, I’m not really into FX, but this was a fun little test to play around with.

Works pretty well on a static model. A bit more complicated on a moving character, but we’ll see how it turns out.

Almost one year after releasing Spider-Man MIRAGE, I’m finally sharing a small VFX & 3D breakdown🕷️☁️

I learned so much while making Mirage, and now, with a bit of distance, looking back at the images, I can see so many things I would do differently and improve today.

But honestly, that’s what makes me even more excited for what’s next. There’s still so much to learn, experiment with, and push further.

Here’s a look behind the scenes at how I built some of the shots, from 3D and simulations to compositing and the final image.

More to come🚀

All aspects, vous connaissez déjà🫡🇸🇷
