Nessun sync, solo mano e orecchio.

-

One record melts into the next. Winston’s Midnight Disco gives way to K-Jee, half a century of groove still calling the body to move. No sync, just hand and ear.

We’re closing our first season with a special guest, straight from Tokyo. In 1993 Yutaka opens his first residency at BLUE in Aoyama, then CATALYST/GOTHIC, BAR AOYAMA, AOYAMA HACHI, the reggae club OPEN: thirty years inside Tokyo’s underground scene, without a break. In 2018 that sound crosses the world, Salva Discos in Barcelona, then BIKO in Milan, opening for Steve Dub and Mokambo Brothers. Nothing rushed in his set: soul, funk, jazz, disco, reggae, rare grooves, all on vinyl, inside one philosophy, Beat and Smooth. This is what thirty years behind the decks sounds like, when nobody’s in a hurry to get anywhere.

Dagli anni duemila in poi lavora nello streetwear: Carhartt, Stussy, Slamjam, Nike, Antonioli.

Some people didn’t just listen to early ‘90s hip-hop. They lived it — in record stores, on the streets, on the walls. Matteo “Bonba” Teruzzi is one of those people. Cologno Monzese, outskirts of Milan. Saturday mornings in a Fiat 126 with Zakis Area 38, digging vinyl at Timeout on Via de Amicis. Graffiti on the walls as Captain Kontrol, VMD70’S crew. From the early 2000s, years in streetwear: Carhartt, Stussy, Slamjam, Nike, Antonioli. Now a designer and licensee for Volta Footwear. The selector never went anywhere. This set is the sound of that education: beats, samples, flow. Nothing added, nothing removed.

Fresh Cut. Primo taglio dell’anno.
Porte ore 19:30.

Fresh Cut. First blade of the year.
Season 2 starts here.
Sha Ribeiro on the decks — photographer, writer, selector. He documented the grime, bounce and hip hop scenes across the world before the world caught up. His set speaks in layers: culture, rhythm, roots.
LOBE is a Milano-based platform for those who didn’t just listen to music — they were marked by it. Like the cut of the lobe.
April 9 we’re at Ciclocaffè — beers, music, the right vibe. A place that, like us, is built around people and shared passions.
09.04 — Ciclocaffè, Milano. Doors 19:30.
