🔥 IGNITE THE STATE OF NEGUSELAM 🔥

The State of Neguselam is more than a destination. It is a state of consciousness rooted in divine order, sovereignty, discipline, peace, and service to our people.

We must move beyond simply honoring our ancestors and great leaders.

Emulation over veneration.

It is not enough to praise their names or display their images. We must study their discipline, strengthen the institutions they established, and continue their work within our generation.

Every membership application completed, official ID secured, committee strengthened, business supported, and act of service brings the vision closer to manifestation.

The State of Neguselam will be established through unity, organization, sacrifice, and purposeful action.

Strengthen the Federation.
Organize the people.
Emulate the example.
Build the State of Neguselam.

REGAL ECHOES | 94 YEARS APART 👑

Ras Tafari Makonnen — France, 1924 Chadwick Boseman — New York, 2018

Two distinguished African men. Two different eras. Two remarkable appearances on the world stage.

In 1924, Ras Tafari Makonnen, the future Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, traveled to France on a historic diplomatic mission. His ceremonial attire reflected Ethiopian royal tradition, featuring flowing white garments, elaborate embroidery, and sacred Christian crosses.

Ninety-four years later, Chadwick Boseman appeared at the 2018 Met Gala, themed Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, wearing a custom Atelier Versace ensemble adorned with jeweled crosses, gold embellishments, and a magnificent white cape.

The visual similarities are striking: the white ceremonial garments, the cross-centered adornments, the intricate craftsmanship, and the regal presentation.

Yet the occasions were distinct. Ras Tafari represented Ethiopia's sovereignty and diplomatic presence, while Boseman brought a commanding Black cultural presence to one of fashion's most celebrated stages.

Although no direct design connection has been established, their appearances invite us to explore the relationship between African royalty, sacred symbolism, cultural identity, and contemporary fashion.

From royal diplomacy to the red carpet, the visual language of majesty continues to resonate across generations.

What similarities stand out to you?

"The saints shall take the kingdom — and possess it for ever. Daniel 7:18.

In 1937, in exile, Haile Selassie gave the scattered people a body: the Ethiopian World Federation. One people, home and abroad. And in 1948, Shashamane — 500 acres through the EWF — made the promise ground you could stand on.

The kingdom was not only promised. It was organized.

Are you federated?"

👑🇪🇹 A ROYAL PEOPLE | The Legacy of Ethiopian Nobility

Long before the rise of modern Black consciousness movements, before the celebration of the Afro as a symbol of Black pride, Africa had kings, queens, princes, and princesses who wore their natural crowns with dignity.

Ethiopia stood as a living testament to African sovereignty, preserving centuries of royal traditions, Christian heritage, cultural identity, and self-government.

These images invite us to reflect on something profound: Black royalty was not a fantasy. It was a historical reality.

From the natural texture of their hair to the magnificent garments that adorned their bodies, Ethiopian nobility presented a powerful image of African identity and authority.

For generations of Africans throughout the diaspora, Ethiopia represented something greater than a distant kingdom. It symbolized independence, ancestral dignity, and the possibility of African self-determination.

Our history is not limited to enslavement and colonialism. It is also a history of kingdoms, civilizations, faith, resistance, and sovereignty.

👑 Your Natural Crown. Your Ancient Heritage. A Royal People.

This visual series features artistic interpretations inspired by Ethiopian royal history, not original archival photographs.

Long before First African Baptist Church became the name known across Savannah, its story carried another powerful title:

The Ethiopian Church of Jesus Christ.

In January 1788, the congregation led by Rev. Andrew Bryan was formally recognized in Savannah under that name. The language matters. “Ethiopian” was being used within early Black Christian life as more than a reference to geography—it could carry ideas of African identity, biblical dignity, sacred belonging, and collective peoplehood.

That story also connects Savannah to Jamaica through George Liele, one of the earliest Black Baptist preachers in North America. After leaving Savannah during the closing period of the American Revolution, Liele continued his ministry in Jamaica, where the Black Baptist movement that developed around his work became associated with the name Ethiopian Baptists.

Over time, the Savannah congregation would be known by later names, including First Colored Church and First African Baptist Church. But the early record preserves something remarkable: the word Ethiopian stood at the beginning of this historic Black church tradition in Savannah.

From Savannah to Jamaica, this is a story of faith, survival, freedom, African consciousness, and the building of Black institutions in the Atlantic world.

The name changed. The legacy continued.

Many people trace Pan-Africanism to the 1900 London Pan-African Conference organized by Henry Sylvester Williams.
But the ground was already being broken before that.
The 1893 Chicago Congress on Africa deserves more attention as an early turning point in the development of the movement. While it took place within a white-organized setting shaped by missionary, colonial, and paternalistic ideas, Black leaders did not passively accept that agenda. They used that space to challenge the framing coming from the white Christian organizers and to speak for African dignity, Black self-determination, and the right of African people to define their own future.
This is what makes 1893 so important. It was not the full institutional birth of Pan-Africanism as later seen in London in 1900, but it was a groundbreaking moment in the movement’s formation—a public battleground where Black intellectuals and leaders openly pushed back against colonial narratives and asserted a vision rooted in African unity and Black agency.
This post also highlights Martin R. Delany, Edward Wilmot Blyden, and Henry Sylvester Williams—three key figures whose work shows that the ideas behind Pan-Africanism were being developed by Black minds long before the movement was formally recognized in conference history.
It is also powerful to note that the 1893 Congress on Africa took place just one year after the birth of Ras Tafari Makonnen in 1892, placing the event within a broader historical timeline of Black and African awakening.
So the point is not to deny the significance of London in 1900.
The point is to recognize that 1893 helped break ground—and that Black leaders were already confronting the colonial and early neocolonial mindset behind white-controlled narratives on Africa.
Swipe through the evidence.

: Case File — State Erasure & Resistance

Behind the stamps and official forms lies a story of forced erasure and fierce resilience. Under laws like Virginia’s 1924 Racial Integrity Act, state administrators like Walter Plecker systematically altered birth certificates and public records, reclassifying Indigenous tribal members as "colored" or "negro". But leaders like Chief George Major Cook (Pamunkey) and Chief George L. Nelson (Rappahannock) refused to let their heritage be erased—writing letters, bringing legal challenges, and preserving their sovereign identities against state-level paper genocide. 📜✊🏽

Form Audit — Reclassification Under Plecker’s Directive

What happens when a pen stroke tries to rewrite an entire nation's genealogy? During the early to mid-20th century, state registrars altered official status records across several Virginia tribes—including the Pamunkey, Mattaponi, Chickahominy, Nansemond, and Rappahannock. Local officials relied on arbitrary observations and bureaucratic directives to strip away Native identity on paper. Yet, despite decades of administrative reclassification, these communities maintained their culture, oral histories, and unbroken bonds to their ancestral lands. 🔍📂

The Path Forward — Enduring Identity & Restoration

Paper records can be altered, but true sovereignty endures. Through generations of legal battles, archival research, and cultural preservation, Indigenous descendants fought back to restore their rightful recognition. From state recognition to official federal status achieved by tribes like the Pamunkey, this journey is a testimony to unyielding strength and identity that could never be broken. 🦅✨

🇪🇹 THE BATTLE OF ADWA — THE VICTORY THAT SHOOK AN EMPIRE! 👑🦁

MARCH 1, 1896 | ADWA, ETHIOPIA

On this historic day, Emperor Menelik II led the Ethiopian Empire to one of the most significant victories in African history, defeating the invading Italian army and defending Ethiopia's independence against European colonial expansion.

At a time when European powers were dividing Africa among themselves, ETHIOPIA STOOD SOVEREIGN! 🇪🇹

Under the leadership of Emperor Menelik II, alongside Empress Taytu Betul, Ethiopian commanders, warriors, and communities from across the empire united in defense of their homeland.

⚔️ ADWA WAS MORE THAN A MILITARY VICTORY.

It was a declaration that African sovereignty was worth defending, that unity could overcome imperial ambition, and that the destiny of a people did not belong in the hands of foreign conquerors.

The victory at Adwa resonated far beyond Ethiopia's borders, becoming a powerful symbol of African resistance, dignity, self-determination, and liberation.

🦁 THE LEGACY OF MENELIK II LIVES ON!

130 years later, the spirit of Adwa continues to remind generations that independence must be protected, unity must be cultivated, and history must never be forgotten.

HONOR THE ANCESTORS. REMEMBER ADWA. DEFEND THE LEGACY.

🇪🇹 ONE ETHIOPIA. ONE AFRICA. ONE UNBREAKABLE SPIRIT. 🇪🇹
