28 years ago today.

On July 15, 1998, I signed the lease for LOCAL, in the historic Boyd Hotel, a true Dallas landmark.

Years later, I wrote the date on a yellow sticky so I wouldn’t forget. The sticky eventually disappeared, but before it did I asked @travis.longstaff, a wonderful independent local illustrator, to capture it in this little special sketch.

Looking at it today brings me right back to where it all began. Funny how the smallest things can hold the biggest memories. Who would’ve ever thought?

Happy 28 Anniversary, LOCAL 🤍
