💥 IMPLODED: EDS PLANO A piece of Plano history came crashing down Sunday morning. Portions of the former Electronic Data Systems (EDS) headquarters at 5400 Legacy Drive were imploded as demolition continues across the longtime corporate campus. WHY? AT&T is preparing to transform the site into its new global headquarters — a roughly $1.3 billion, 54-acre development in the heart of Plano’s Legacy business district. The EDS campus dates back to 1985 and played a major role in establishing the Legacy area as one of North Texas’ biggest corporate hubs. THREE COLLIN COUNTY CITIES ARE AMONG AMERICA’S TOP 15 SAFEST FOR NEW HOMEOWNERS A new study from home security company Vivint ranked 93 U.S. cities based on property crime rates, homeowner demographics and security-related employment — and McKinney, Frisco and Plano all earned high marks. #2 McKinney #4 Frisco #11 Plano 🏠 93 U.S. cities evaluated 📉 McKinney: 680 property crimes per 100,000 residents 📉 Frisco: 789.4 property crimes per 100,000 residents 🔍 Property crime accounted for 40% of the ranking The study also considered younger homeowners, recent movers and security-related employment, so the results aren’t a definitive measure of overall public safety.
