You know, normally I think it's lame to give out anything other than candy on Halloween but I'm pretty stoked someone gave Mak a tiny skateboard. Now Tiny Jesus can win first place in the All Saints' Day kick flip contest. We got soaked to the bone but still had a pretty good time. Happy Halloween from me and my favorite Gabby Cat! #happyhalloween #gabbysdollhouse #fiveyearsold #kickflipjesus #allsaintsday by @loch.ness.monster
I love lotus root. It's probably my favorite root vegetable. It's soaks up so much flavor in whatever you put it in and it's so pretty. Unless you're one of those people who are afraid of holes. #lotusroot #tteokbokki #brunchtime #weirdbrunch #homecook by @loch.ness.monster
Some colors I did at home today. I'm really happy with how they turned out! First is an all over color. One tube of Calura 5RRV and one tube of 4RRV with an ounce of violet intensifier. The second is a cherry cola calico. Calura 4B with violet intensifier, 6RR with violet intensifier, 6RR with red intensifier and a more pink red I made by mixing Funk Hue fuschia, pink and red. And as always, thank you to @em.out.of.the.blue , who always entertains the crazy hair ideas I have! #cosmetologylife #hairdressersathome #cherrycokehair #calicohair #oligopro by @loch.ness.monster
Guys. I just can't with this kid... she called me "bro" this morning... First picture day as a big ol' kindergartner! She makes my heart so full. #littlemak #pictureday #kindergarten #5yearsold #girlmom by @loch.ness.monster
Blanket dumplings, an easier way to make traditional steamed pork dumplings. This is one of those "viral" recipes I've been seeing all over. This is really good. It turned out way better than the time I tried to make the "dumpling lasagna". I think I will still work on my dumpling pinch but these really lived up to the hype. I was really surprised they didn't stick to the bottom of my pan. I served it with pan fried Napa cabbage and rice. #viralrecipes #blanketdumplings #porkdumplings #dinnertime #homecook by @loch.ness.monster
"You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work. Most of them just cheat on you". #clerks by @loch.ness.monster
Millions of peaches... in this economy? I only had two... but they were big. Peach habanero bbq sauce. My life has been kind of crazy as of late, and not the kind of crazy I enjoy. Cooking is always a constant that soothes my soul. Base recipe credit to the Magnolia Days cooking blog, but I did change a few things, mainly adding a bit of black strap molasses to the recipe. It turned out so good! Can't wait to put it on some chicken! #bbqsauce #peaches #habaneros #spicysauce #homecook by @loch.ness.monster

I was driving down east Kearney to get home the other night and had to stop for this picture. Turns out you can turn a regular old hellscape of strippers and debauchery into a liminal hellscape for the children!
