Well, It finally happened. Ended up breaking the mark everyone chases the other day with a 7 lb 3 oz giant anchoring a 31.3 pound bag. This fish went 22.25" x 17.5". The St. Lawrence River is a such a special place and I'm happy to have had such an incredible day. Last trip before storing the boat went out with a bang. Ended up catching a bunch of Lake Trout and a handful of big Smallmouth. This may be the fattest fish I've ever caught, 6 lbs 10 oz and right at 20 inches long. All fish came on the tried and true @beastcoastfishing sniper jig. Birthday trout bash was a good time as usual. Targeting these trout is about as much fun as you can have this time of year. Reminiscing on 7 pound (almost) bites from the greatest smallmouth fishery in the world. This tank from a few weeks ago went 6.90 on the dot. So close yet so far.
