🍾 First of all! When I saw little ol’ me and my fellow cohort 5 sisters on the @forbes website, I almost fainted 😂 😭 Thank you @goldmansachs and @nyustern for an amazing 10 weeks.

For the last 10 weeks I’ve been taking business classes administered by NYU Stern, and funded by Goldman Sachs to grow @locloveco. This was the longest 10 weeks of class I’ve ever taken. It was said that it’s harder to get into this program then Harvard so again I am so proud of you, ladies and myself!! Like I always say, I’m not done yet. I’ll start celebrating with you all more. I just gotta stay calm because this life is so amazing, very exhilarating lol

No Charge 🙂‍↔️…

✨Things I don’t charge for as a Loctician..

1. Shampoos - The cleaner the scalp, the cleaner the retwist. We’re not going to go into why stylist don’t wash hair, here you’re getting your hair shampooed..

2. Complimentary Basic Style - This helps me figure out the type of styles you like before your appointment and gives you an idea of what we can do in the future.

3. Tip - ASK ME EVERYTHING!! Like, “Should I wear a bonnet or wrap my hair down when I get a fresh retwist?”

4. Scalp Massages - A little scalp massage to wake you up or put you to sleep, really I like to get this scalp nice and moisturized before I start pulling the Locs apart.

5. Late Fees -THIS IS HOUSTON! Traffic is crazy! I know you might need a few extra minutes. I allow grace periods. If there’s no communication after 15 minutes the appointment is canceled with a cancellation fee, the client has the option to reschedule.

6. Deposits - No deposits for existing clients. Fortunately I’ve been blessed to have only a few no-shows over the years. Learn to read your clients, you’ll be able to tell if it’s a serious inquiry or not. The appointment is canceled after a grace period. This gives me more flexibility and simplifies the process for both me and the clients.

Let’s be real…

There could be a few reasons why your loc extensions slip:

✨1. Improper Installation: If the loc extensions are not installed correctly, they may not be securely attached to your natural hair.

✨2. Hair Texture: If your hair is very straight or silky, it may be more difficult for the extensions to hold onto the hair properly. For example, you bought Peruvian curly hair because you liked the texture.

✨3. HAIR PRODUCT BUILD-UP: Product build-up on your hair and scalp can make it harder for LOCS & loc extensions to grip onto your natural hair. Regular cleansing and maintenance of your hair and scalp can help prevent this issue.

✨Install Microlocs with me using the interlocking method…sis had a lash appt 🥴 I’ll post the end result soon. Btw: I don’t use my fingers unless I have nails, no, the little key doesn’t work for me. My fingers are fat lol.

Method: Interlocking
Time: 9.5 hrs
Length: 8-10 inches
Microlocks can he started with braids or two strand twist interlocked from root to tip. Sizing, install duration, loc count, texture/density, & service price are discussed at consultation.

✨ The maintenance is called a retie or interlock maintenance, which should be scheduled every 8 to 10 weeks. A little sooner if your hair grows faster and vice versa if your hair grows slower. Little to no product is used for this style, just a shampoo, oil, and maybe a little edge control or mousse.
