Showing your work especially for a crochet service during a consultation is useful because loc repair isn’t one-size-fits-all. It lets you test the technique on that client’s actual hair before committing to a full service.

1. To see how the hair responds: Density, texture, breakage, thinning, and loose hair all affect how well reconstruction/crochet work will hold.

2. Give a more accurate price and time frame : Once you know approximately how long one repair takes and how much product/hair is needed, you can quote the full service more confidently.

3. Demonstrate Expertise: The client gets to physically see what a proper repaired loc will look and feel like, including firmness, size, and appearance and book with confidence. by @locsbylee_

Another loctitian would have just retwisted that and never told you there was a problem going on back there. Which means that loctitian is placing more stress on an already weakened section. Small problems become bigger problems if left unchecked for a long period of time. If you as the professional see something that doesn’t look or feel right, don’t ignore it. Address it early, protect your clients locs, and give them the support they need to thrive. by @locsbylee_

This isn’t a repair I would normally say yes to, and it’s definitely not the traditional way I approach loc repairs but sometimes you just have to make
your client HAPPY! 🥹✨

Since we are growing the damaged locs out and cutting as we go I was more on board! This will be a LONG journey for her and I and I hope she commits and trusts me to get her back where SHE needs to be.

A year ago, I didn’t just reinstall her locs… I helped her reclaim a piece of herself. 🤎

After losing her locs during her battle with cancer, she trusted me to bring them back home. And now here we are approaching ONE YEAR of her locs being reinstalled, right alongside another birthday. 🥹✨

What a beautiful reminder that sometimes restoration is about so much more than hair. It’s about identity, strength, healing, and getting another chance to feel like YOU again.
