I used to feel pressure to choose one way of being an artist. Instead of shrinking and making myself and my practice smaller I embraced the full spectrum of how I tell stories. My practice lives between screen, stage, image, and so much more.

The face. The body. The story. The voice.
Acting. Modeling. Filmmaking. Performance.

Different mediums. Same storyteller.

You write your first play “Fo’i Lole” that’s about Indigenous goddesses, friendship, and reclaiming your homeland — then gather your people for an official reading because you understand you were never supposed to wait for permission to tell these stories.

We deserve space to imagine ourselves as powerful.
We deserve stories where our homelands are more than settings.
We deserve to explore and tell our stories on our own terms.

So I wrote the play.

And then we read it out loud. ✨

I’m grateful to the women who shared their knowledge with me so generously and created such a warm space to learn, ask questions, make mistakes, and try again.

There is something powerful about learning through relationship. Knowledge held powerfully in community, passed responsibly hand to hand, and carried forward through practice with Stinta/Ofa.💖

Thank you to the knowledge keepers who made this experience feel both welcoming and meaningful. Learning that the learning never stops!✨

A little piece of home this weekend. 🪶

I got to see two of my samaks from home at the powwow and I’m so proud of them and the paths they’re making for themselves.

Being around the drum again, dancing, seeing familiar faces, and getting to laugh and catch up with maqlaqs filled me up. I miss our homelands more than I sometimes know how to say, and being there with them felt like getting a little glimpse.

Grateful for our people, our cultures, for our young ones finding their way, and for the moments that remind you where you come from and why it matters.❤️
