To God be the Glory
-
I’m excited to announce that I am officially a professional runner for @asics! God continues to open doors and prepare the way for me to use my gift of running.

This dream wouldn’t have been fulfilled without the support of so many people. To all my family, friends, coaches, and teammates, thank you for pushing me to be my best. To my agent Isaya, thank you for all your help and guidance through this process. To Asics, thank you for believing in me and joining me on this journey as I pursue my goals.

Time to get to work because my dreams just got a lot bigger.

Through the years, I’ve been grateful to put on many uniforms…Spartanburg Christian Academy, Footlocker South, Clemson University, Team USA, and the Univeristy of Arkansas. Each team has played a special role in supporting my goals and dreams, and we’ve continued to raise the bar to reach them. However, every step in this journey has come with a beginning and an end.

Now it’s time for my latest journey to end, but To God be the glory for this new beginning… by @logan.jolly

Some days I feel like a rookie and other days I remember I’m living out my dream…either way, I’m putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward with a little bounce in my step. Running is as simple as that. You should try it 😉

I haven’t posted much about running (I’ll share more soon), but I’ve had some people ask about my injury. So here is an update from the not-so-fun side of the sport…

2 weeks before the US Championship I ran a season best of 9:33 and finally finished a race proud of my execution. However, an untimely achilles tightness showed up post-race. I made some modifications to training the following two weeks to avoid adding stress to my achilles, but ultimately felt I had managed the setback well and flew to NYC for the US Champs.

After my prelim was canceled, I was grateful to have some extra time to rest my achilles but also nervous as I thought about the situation at hand. By race day I knew I was signing up for a race that would either result in a miracle or an injury, and unfortunately it ended with the latter.

After jumping one too many hurdles, the pull on my achilles was too much to bear. I started grimacing over the hurdles and knew that I was risking a major injury if I kept pushing through. I made a very tough call and stepped off the track.

I’ve replayed this moment in my head and questioned if I should have even started the race or maybe kept running despite the pain? But I’ll never know the outcomes of those decisions. What I do know is that I could not have made it to the start line or around the track 6x without God. In some very low moments pre-race, all I could do was trust Him. So I continue to do the same now.

Despite my heartbreak and failure, the sun set that evening and the sun rose the next day, as it does everyday, because God is in it all. My lowest moments will never be wasted. God’s power is made perfect in my weakness (2 Cor. 12:9).

A few days later, my sports doctor diagnosed me with an achilles and soleus strain. It was sore and inflamed, and I was limping just to walk, but thankfully there was no permanent damage. He prescribed me a walking boot for a few weeks, a month of no running, and doctor’s orders to take a vacation.

Now I’m happy to report I’m back running. Training is progressing slowly but surely, and I’m ready to get back to work for 2027!!

SC, it was good to be home!! Thank you to @cooperriverbridgerun for putting on a great event. From seeing familiar faces to conquering the mile long hill, my first competitive 10k was one to remember. This weekend reminded me I’m living out my dreams!

Full circle moment:
I ran this race in 2010 as an 11yr old. It was my first major road race, and it was also my first time seeing an elite field. I watched the elites get off a warm bus while the rest of us stood in trash bags trying to stay warm. My running journey was just beginning, but this race inspired me of the opportunities this sport could bring. I wanted to be one of the elite athletes someday.

That memory faded over the years, but as I reached the elite level of running and started planning my race schedule, one road race came to mind often - the Cooper River Bridge Run.

In God’s perfect timing, I found my way back to the starting line. At a point where I needed something fun, new, and exciting to ignite my training and racing, God reminded me of the dream I had in 2010.

Little Logan couldn’t dream up the blessings God has given me in the sport, but this one I know would’ve made her smile. As the police escorted our bus to the starting line yesterday morning and I heard my name announced over the intercom as I stood in front of 36,000+ people, I couldn’t help but smile. God is good!

Their belief in me has given me moments that will forever be highlights of my career, and their steady support has also carried me through some hard times. I’m continually humbled to have this job and represent such a great brand and group of people.

I’m especially grateful to @bocesar3 @riadharunning @lanceharter. Your belief in me continues to fuel the fire.

As always, to God be the glory!! Now let’s kickoff the season with some racing. First up: my road 10k debut!! by @logan.jolly
