2026 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards

We’re thrilled to share that the Living Museum of Logan has won the Engagement: Organisations with 1-6 FTE Paid Staff category at the 2026 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) for Hmong Journeys: Threads of Home.

Developed in close partnership with the Hmong community, the exhibition celebrated 50 years of Hmong settlement in Australia through stories of migration, resilience, identity and belonging. Through family objects, photographs, textiles and personal histories, the project preserved important cultural knowledge while strengthening understanding and connection across Logan’s diverse communities.

Congratulations to Alice Hinton, Elen Kline and Sarah Thao, the wider Creative Industries, Corporate Communications and KBF teams who were involved in this remarkable achievement! 👏

As we commemorate 50 years of Hmong settlement in Australia following the Vietnam war, this exhibition is both a celebration and a reflection. Saturday afternoons in the workshop are quickly becoming a favourite. ✏️

It’s been wonderful to see artists of all experience levels come together to slow down, observe, and explore the art of life drawing in a relaxed and supportive environment.

With a live nude model, guided poses, and encouragement from the gallery team, each session offers a chance to build confidence, develop new skills, and connect with fellow creatives.

Whether you’re returning to the drawing board or picking up a pencil for the first time, we’d love to see you at our next session.
