Tropical Tucson Garden Mural 🌷A lush and exuberant garden painting🌷 This mural started with a wish to have a bit more of the tropics in the desert. Palm trees offer something uniquely peaceful and refreshing. I wanted this mural to create a tranquil green backdrop to this pool that you could truly get lost in. 🌴 The foci are the sago palms; rich, deep green with marvelous glossy leaves. Each Sago is beautifully rendered with a glowing core and grand 3 dimensional plumage. 🪷 The Sago Palms center the mural, and the fan palms electrify it. I used a different technique on the other palms, painting each jagged leaf with more purpose. It was a slower process, but the result are well defined leaf shapes with regularly spaced fronds that radiate. The greens in the other palm trees are also a lighter, more golden green. 🌼 Across the entire length of the painting is a continuous bed of colorful flowers. Each flowering plant is modeled after a real plant, but simplified by the artist (moi) and stylized for the wall. In order from left to right: Fairy dusters, Aloe, Yellow Bells, Plumeria, Red Bird of Paradise, Lantana, Aztec Lily, and Garden Dahlia. 🌺 (Oh, and did I mention these palm trees don’t require any additional water!!)💧 #mural #tucson #palmtrees #tucsonmurals #muralpainter by @logankilgroe

Surrounded - acrylic on canvas - 48” x 24” In all that land where life had fled, Two living souls defied the dead— An otter guarding, hour by hour, The last small bloom, the final flower. This piece was so fun to paint!! The majority of my painting hours were dedicated to the highly detailed background but i think it paid off in atmospheric vibes😶‍🌫️ Every otter had so much personality, different reactions and curiosities. I was inspired by classical composition when planning out the poses and reactions to the flower. I love how the otters surround the glow. I don’t know how to post the full process videos. imma try a couple other post formats but let me know if you have thoughts on my media formatting cause id love to improve✌️ #artist #paintingprocess #painting by @logankilgroe
