Onto my next adventure 😁🎶 I’m excited to share that I will be joining the RED Band of the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Tour, starting this holiday season, playing recorders and percussion instruments! I’m very grateful for @roxlayton’s guidance in pursuing this opportunity- she’s been with this tour for a long time and plays this same book in the GREEN Band, who will be performing on the West Coast this year. If you’re around any of these stops and want to see an awesome Christmas show, I’d love to see you there!! 🎄

“Tonight, we honor what was lost, but we also commemorate what we found”

After 473 performances in 153 cities (-1 because of the flu 😜🙄), playing to thousands of patrons all around the United States and Canada, my time on Come From Away has come to and end. As of May 9th, 2025, the North-American Tour has officially closed in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

48,144 minutes of my life went into performing this show and playing a small part in sharing this amazing story. This number doesn’t even include the countless hours of rehearsal, sound checks, travel, and practice that I and my colleagues put into our crafts every day.

To say that this show changed my life is a severe understatement. Playing a show like CFA as my first big music job post-grad bas been nothing short of a dream come true- a moment that I worked so hard to achieve. I’m so happy I got to share this moment with some of the finest musicians, actors, and crew I had the pleasure of working with.

Thank you to the band for being so supportive and kicking ass every single night. This group challenged me so much musically and I’m grateful for everything that I learned from each of you.

Thank you to our actors for upholding the face of this production and bringing this show to life in the best way. What a blessing it has been to watch what you do every night from stage left.

Thank you to our crew for always making sure we have a show and that we are well taken care of. Your jobs are so incredibly important (and difficult!!) and your hard work does not go unnoticed.

My first post of this variety after having this account for nearly a year BUT I’m glad to start now! As a musician in the @wecomefromaway band, a lot of what we play underscores what’s happening on stage, and the music is inspired by the folk music of Newfoundland and Labrador. This tune is known as the “Screech Theme” in the show but is actually a tune from the Newfoundland tradition. (I can’t remember the name of it to save my life, so if anyone knows it please tell me!). This is definitely one of my favorite tunes used in the show!

The new year has got me reflecting on my accomplishments from 2023, and this is a highlight for sure.

On April 30th, 2023, I performed my senior recital in front of 60 guests (all of whom are friends, family, colleagues, and coworkers) and put together a program of works from around the world. Playing for so many of my favorite people was such a gift, and I’m very thankful for @flutistryboston for allowing me to utilize their newly-renovated performance space! I’m also thankful to @olga.s.popova and @wkandle00 for joining me on this journey, and to my (now former) roommates @luluubellee @0wbo and @jackson_tower for being my rock and putting up with my pre-recital anxieties :)

A wonderful full circle moment! ✨

I first met Forbes and Yola of @windwardflutes this past summer in Phoenix at the NFA convention. I’ve been looking to get one of their flutes for YEARS and I picked one out at NFA to take home and ultimately purchase. I spent a lot of time at their booth in Phoenix and got to know them for the wonderful people they are! (In addition to incredible flute makers!)

I play their flute quite a bit in the Come From Away book, and while in Halifax, I was able to get them tickets to see our show last night! It means so much to be able to play their flute on this show, and even more so to have had them there so see it in action. My next goal is to see their shop in Shelburne! 🥳

A slight throwback, but still one of my favorite performances to date!

The last week of April 2023 was a whirlwind. I recorded flute for a short film that is doing well in film festivals. I had my last concert as principal flute of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra after holding that chair for several semesters. I capped off April 2023 with my senior recital, featuring works from around the world.

This performance, however, is one that will resonate with me for a long time and one that I still think about often. I had the honor of debuting “The Mourner’s Suite” for my dear friend Simon @simonsadikovic in the spring showcase concert of the @society_of_composers at Berklee. Their piece brings it’s listeners on a journey of discovery through mourning the loss of a loved one. Simon strategically wrote this piece for solo alto flute, showcasing its richness and versatility throughout its whole range.

I’ve made it a personal mission to get their work published. It is truly a work of art and I’m truly honored to have debuted such a beautiful work for a lesser known flute.

Here’s to starting a new chapter of my career! 🥂

I’m excited to launch a new account that will be inclusive to ALL of my endeavors as a musician. For those who may not know me, my name is Logan- I’m a musician based in Boston, MA. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in May 2023, earning my B.M. in Flute Performance and minoring in both Recording & Production for Musicians and Effortless Mastery. I grew up as a competitive fiddler and have interest in music production and composition. Most recently, I have accepted an offer to join the North American Tour of @wecomefromaway as a member of the band, playing on a variety of Celtic whistles; flutes, and pipes.

Starting a new account is never easy, but I’m committed to making this work and am excited to share all of the music things I find myself working on! Thank you for your support as I embark on this new and exciting chapter of my career. 💙💛
