Where do I even begin with this one?
Well let’s see, I turned 45 and in that same week I went to New York City for the first time. Yes, the first time. But can I just say that nothing ever presented itself to me as a reason of going. Yes I have always dreamt about it my whole life, but nobody has ever said “let’s go!” or had an event to attend. It took me doing a six month course with my hypnotherapist and to wrap it up with a day retreat in NYC for me to say, “okay, I’m going!”

@jimcurtis1 Jim, I want to say thank you. A big thank you for helping me see what has been in front of me. Me. Someone to not be ashamed of, someone I should be proud of. The work I have done with you over the last two years has been not easy at times but one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. You have encouraged me to chase after my dreams. To be raw and real. To know that I am doing it exactly right. Congratulations on your new book, it is going to help so many and I cannot wait to see what other remarkable things await you. Thank you for finally getting to New York. 💙

@stephenrayfield Stephen, Thank you for being a friend, traveled down the road (more like up) and back again. 😂 Thank you for going on this trip with me when I begged you to go because I knew I couldn’t do this on my own. The history you taught me, the sights, the food, the memories that were made. It will all stay with me forever and I could not have imagined my first time there without you. 🫶🏽

@n8glorioso Love, thank you for always being there for me. Your wife sometimes has ridiculous and crazy ideas and dreams, and you support me in letting me run with them and experience it. I cannot thank you enough for holding down the fort and taking care of our girls so I can go out there in the world and do the little Lori things that I want to experience. Ohhhh how I have been dreading putting this together. Because I know me and I know how melancholy I would get making it.

A somewhat put together quickly trip to Maine while the girls stayed back in Ohio when we were there this Summer. My dream has always been to visit Maine (and live there even though I had never been…but really, just let me live in ANY New England state…somewhat by the water, in a sleepy little cozy town. I am really not asking for much.😜).

We explored Portland and I tried my best to talk Nathan into interviewing at their hospital. To no avail, I still soaked up this adventure as much as possible. All the oysters and lobster rolls we could consume. A trip out on a sail boat that Nathan had the chance to help with the mast-that led us in earlier because of a squall heading towards us and what we thought was a dog swimming in the water by our boat turned in to being the most adorable seal- and a chance encounter with one of JFK’s former boats right by us. Brick roadways, our hotel being in the same place as Thoreau and a day trip by train to Freeport so we could explore, visit L.L. Bean (and purchase my first tote!), buy books for the girls in the oldest bookstore in Maine and have a drink at a haunted bar.

So many memories made and cannot wait to explore more of Maine with the girls next time. 💙

It has been a busy three weeks!
Girls first day of 3rd and 1st grade, soccer tournament champions, seeing a Fleetwood Mac cover band (and of course had to have a photo with “Stevie”), our 16th wedding anniversary, Gabby started her rehearsals for The Descendants play, a long awaited book came out, and celebrated getting through their BOG testing day! by @loglorioso

As I am laying here in bed with the first day of school on the horizon, I realized I never did my yearly back to school day with the girls. Clothes and shoe shopping, lunch, technically we just did some appetizers (of so much fried food!😆) and the new Paw Patrol movie. They may not always remember exactly what we did on this day, but I always will. I am going to miss having my little buddies with me all the time. 💙 by @loglorioso

It may look like a table of notebooks but they are full of things I love that are important to me because they are little pieces of my heart that I can hold onto. They give me a place to collect the books that move me, the quotes that stay with me, the things that inspire me, and the moments I never want to forget. In a world that moves so quickly, writing these things down allows me to slow down and truly appreciate what brings me joy. Each notebook becomes a reflection of who I am, what I’m drawn to, and what makes my life feel beautiful. They are more than just notebooks—they are little time capsules of the things I love and the person I am in each season of my life. 💙 by @loglorioso

Not typically one for trends, but every time one of these “kinda chic” pops up, I start going through all the things in my head. It was easy and honestly, I had so many more I wanted to put up, but also, keep it simple Lori.

What do you find kinda chic? If you have a laundry list like I did originally, you should try this and see how many you have to limit yourself too.😂 by @loglorioso

Are you reading Into The Blue by Emma Brodie along with us this month in @thestarlingsbookery ? I might be a little early in my thoughts with this (and a few pages behind on our schedule…life, what can I say?) but I am loving everything about this book. LOVING. So far. The characters, the storyline. Is there going to be time travel and or magical realism to some degree in this book? I do not have the answer for that, HOWEVER I do have my theories. Sometimes I love our book picks and sometimes I do not, but this one is hitting high on my list of ones that I love. I want to DEVOUR this and take it in slowly. Does anyone else feel like that with books from time to time?

Spent a lovely day a couple weeks ago celebrating our nephew who married his high school sweetheart, who we also adore.🩵 The girls being able to be flower girls was an extra special treat. by @loglorioso
