Competed at grappling industries today. Went 5-0 in Gi and got my first Gold 🏅 medal in competition.
Unfortunately, my knee was injured during my second no gi match. I'll be out for a bit, but already planning my rehab and eventual come back. I'll do my best to keep my mind sharp and see what God has in store for me. Grateful to my coaches, teammates and friends for the support 🙏🏿❤️❤️‍🩹

Today marks a year and two days since I stepped into the ring for the first time (2/24/2024). It also marks exactly two years since I lost one of my closest friends. The voice at the beginning was a voice message from our last conversation, which took place only four to five hours before he was found dead under mysterious circumstances. I'm just glad I had the chance to say goodbye.

Leading up to that fight a year later, I kept thinking about him—about what he said—and wondering if I actually had it in me to win a fight. I didn’t care if it was just a smoker; to me, it was an opportunity to prove that I had it in me—not just to all the people who said I couldn’t, but more importantly, to myself. I wanted to prove that I wasn’t the wimpy kid who couldn’t play any sports growing up and was sick all the time.

I know I made him proud and paid him tribute, even though he’s probably in heaven right now, reading this long write-up and laughing his head off. I’m grateful to all the people who continue to believe in me. Shout-out to my older brother @masters_act , who recorded my fight and has basically been my sports psychologist and coach long before I ever stepped into a gym.

Highlights from my fight two weeks ago.

Patting myself on the back for this one.
Was down with the flu 2 weeks leading to the fight but still pulled through with the win. Shout-out to my coach @kickingboxes for preparing me for the fight and @jjackson_mma for the padwork and for cornering me.
