NO MORE 🙅‍♂️

Did you know that the leaders within the FAI get more money a year than Irish clubs do for winning the league? Now that's what I call Irish football.

With so many people now calling for the FAI board to walk or resign, this is the perfect time to finally get things right for Irish football. For too long has the sport been diminished, used, and abused for the gain of a minority who care not for the sport itself. Now we need to get it right.

Across the country you can see for yourself the lack of attention we have gotten. Our football grounds are falling apart, held only together by the love of the locals and nothing more. The access of public pitches and the ability for people to play freely is sparse. The sport has been on its knees for far too long without those keeping it alive and ensuring we have even half a chance of progressing internationally getting even a sniff of praise or thanks.

So let this weekend show those who have never given domestic football a chance that without the coaches, the volunteers, the players, the fans, the referees, the groundsmen and groundswomen, the photographers, those at the ticket booths, those who wash the jerseys, and everyone actually involved in keeping Irish football afloat, this international team doesn't exist, and any affiliation you have to Irish football is gone. There is no international team without those people. There is no Gavin Bazunu without those people.

Don't be gaslit by other media outlets into going to the game and "supporting the team" on Thursday should this farce go ahead today. Do not support the FAI until there is change, or we will never become consistent on the international stage. Support real Irish football instead.

Disband. Reform. Clarify. Listen. Get it right this time. Unite as one. It is not what Irish football can do for you, it is what you can do for Irish football. Always. 💚

*GULP* HE'S COMING BACK 😅

As if Shamrock Rovers weren't good enough without him, unfortunately for the rest of the league, Pico's time in America has come to an end, but that was just an incredible and historic few weeks. And our man was right out in front and centre. What a time to be alive! I saw an influx in Cape Verdean followers to the page with the Pico posts, to the point where it is now in the Top 5 of nationalities that follow the page, such is the Pico effect! Welcome lads! The honorary 33rd county. I have never seen my Dad celebrate an Ireland goal like he celebrated that 2nd Sidney Cabral strike! 🇨🇻

But what a time to be alive. The promotion this has had for the league is profound. Everyone in Ireland watched Cape Verde with one eye on their number 4 at all times. With Tallaght now at 10k capacity there is extra space for new fans in the ground to go and watch the man that helped make the best players in the world falter. They captured the hearts of the world, and Pico put us on the map with it. If he wasn't already etched in the Irish sporting history books he most certainly is now, and truly who deserves it more? 👑

Alas, we're back to normal. This homecoming will be generational. Captain, hero, legend. He has taught us giving up is never an option. He should come home a god amongst men. But he won't. He's just our Pico after one hell of an adventure, and he summarises what makes this league incredible. Thank you Pico! 🫡

BOOING ENGLAND AGAIN? 👀

Before you boo the English this World Cup, just think for a second. Do I support Ireland? Do I support an English team? Do I also support Irish football? If I don't support Irish football, but support an English team, then why I want England to fail? 🤔

What a strange situation we find ourselves in. Most Irish supporters actually support an English team, isn't that mad? It becomes even crazier a fact when you realise that most nations of our size and smaller frequently qualify for major tournaments because they support their own teams. So what is stopping you? A foreign team isn't your local team! Club football finishes in November in this country, not May! 🇮🇪

You can of course follow foreign teams, but you must put your own first in order for Irish football to go. So don't forget the fact that club football is in fact not over for the summer. Every Friday there are clubs competing right across the country to be crowned the best in this country. Irish football doesn't happen every international break, it happens every Friday night. So make sure you don't look silly booing England this World Cup and give Irish football your money, it deserves it. Raw emotion, complete passion, and filled with aa much love as any sport on this island. Long live Irish football! ⚽️

DROGS ABROAD ☪️

The Drogheda team have had a very successful first day in Türkiye before their big mid-season friendly match against their sister team and Turkish giants Trabzonspor as they explored the city of Trabzon and greeted local fans! The club received an unbelievable reception from the bus as Trabzonspor fans greeted them off the bus with plenty of noise and colour! 🟣🔵

A truly special bond between two teams on either side of the continent. A very special few days in store for the Drogs! 👀

CONFIRMED 🥹

Michael Noonan has signed for Nottingham Forest on a pre-contract! 📝

One of the nation's most exciting talents has his next destination as English Premier League side Nottingham Forest beat the rest of his suitors for his signature! With 16 goals to his name since breaking into the Shamrock Rovers first team and now has 81 competitive games in senior football unfer his belt! Noonan has also impressed on the international front being part of that fantastic u17s side at the World Cup last year. We'll now be watching with a keen eye across the water as he will look to make an impact in the coming years! But can he leave on a high with another league medal in his pocket with Shamrock Rovers? What a boost that would be! 👀

MO GHILE MEAR 💚

I never really cover the international scene on this page but I was going to start with this window, as it is always something I find myself consistently discussing it with others, and always find myself tuning in for it.

So I decided I would wait for the next window given the elephant in the room still hadn't been addressed, and my sincere hope that we would as a country collectively decide that this farce couldn't go ahead. I was never intending on covering this upcoming disgrace of a fixture as an Irishman. But today has been absolutely soul destroying.

We as a league and as a nation know where we stand. The message from the players has been one of unity, and the message of the FAI has been clarity. Neither have stood firm.

Now one of our own, someone who has played in front of those who keep football in this country alive. Someone who knows where the nation stands in the face of adversity. Someone who has never forgotten his roots once, Gavin Bazunu, is in the spotlight.

Today is looking like a dark day in the history of the nation's sport, as many times there are. Gavin Bazunu is currently sat in a hotel room, hundreds of miles from home, all but effectively being forced to do something that goes against the very grain of our DNA as a country. A grit and a refusal to bow, and he has been hung out to dry for it.

While the Ireland team, his friends, and his brothers in arms, train and prep ahead of a scarring event on the nation tomorrow, think of this man. Send him the support he deserves from us as a collective footballing community, as one of our own. ☘️

It won't be an easy time for Gav over the next while, but it won't be for any of us. Let us as a free nation band together alongside him. This man is a lesson to us all underneath the tricolour. Oh Gavin Bazunu. 🇮🇪

A REALITY CHECK 🫠

Hello my fellow victims of last night's viewing. I'm one of those Ireland fans who looks at the team sheet every time and thinks, "Ok I'd like to see how this is going to work". Then 9 times out of 10 I go to bed hoping my future children have no interest in football! 😔

There is no longer any coincidence that our lack of tournament participation over the last decade is linked with our disturbing lack of creativity in the middle of the park. We have Troy Parrott up top who is one of the most in-form strikers on the continent and Chiedozie Ogbene out wide who has proven how dangerous he can be for us. Yet behind them there are no positive players on the ball. No one who can make things happen with it at their feet. Let me put forward Bohemians captain Dawson Devoy. ⚫️🔴

There is no ground to stand on for the conservative Ireland fans anymore. The last 10 years have been so incredibly stagnant that it is undeniable that something needs to change. Give him a camp or two to get settled then incorporate him in and give him a chance, and if we are truly the best fans in the world then we won't witch hunt him for not hitting the ground running after a couple of games like we have with Killian Phillips... 😒

After all, there is nothing to lose anymore, at worst, it stays as it is, so there is no use in not giving him a go! 🫡

IS IT FINALLY OVER? 🥲

He has been linked with a lot of moves away over the last few years, to no one's surprise, but Stephen Bradley is a serious contender take the managerial job at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian to replace their current manager David Gray! 😳

An exclusuve story from Dan McDonnell of the Independent, the Hibs are eyeing up Bradley due to his exceptional ability to work with young players and his major successes over the last decade in the league in what would be a very intriguing move for Hoops boss having had numerous job offers down the years from across the water. Everytime he had an offer he turned it down to remain at home. I would be surprised if this move was to go through immediately given Shamrock Rovers are on the verge of potentially winning yet another league in a very intense title race! 🏆

You would imagine it would occur after the season is over. In my opinion it would be a bit of a sideways move for Bradley in terms of a competitive level given Shamrock Rovers and Hibernian are at a similar standard. Of course though, Hibs have more money, and would most likely be better pay, and a change of scenery might be on the cards as well for who is, at this stage, undoubtedly up there as the greatest coach the league has ever seen. 👀

What do we reckon guys? If it were to happen, who would Shamrock Rovers bring in to make up for such a massive loss? ⬇️
