Part 2 from last night — @theearlydoorsclub with @thebluetonesofficialuk.

Not the first time I’ve seen them, but as always, they delivered great humour, Robo Cop and more non-stop chat, all packed around those wonderful lyrics and vocals.

Another brilliant night from a band who never disappoint.

I didn’t take as many as usual, as I was enjoying catching up with a few faces I hadn’t seen in a while.

A few photos from today’s Wigan Writing Festival, hosted and organised by @maddisonhousepress and @gemmaholgate.author 📸✍️

Such a lovely day filled with brilliant talks, creativity and conversation, and a genuinely supportive and relaxed space to connect with other writers and creatives.

A wonderful celebration of writing and storytelling. ✨ by @lois_reflections

still caring: the hidden work behind the care home door

“There’s a perception that everything is done and then you walk away, skip along, go home and merrily eat your tea.”

But caring doesn’t necessarily end when someone moves into a care home. It changes.

My latest piece for Tether Magazine follows Karen and the work that continues behind the care home door, sorting clothes, dealing with practicalities, advocating and simply still being there.

It’s another side of unpaid care that often goes unseen.

🔗 Read the full piece:

If you’ve experienced caring for someone after they moved into residential care, I’d love to hear from you.

Just got some lovely news today: an article about my work, The Carers Who Never Get a Break, featuring Colette’s story, will be in @carers_uk magazine, Caring, in the December issue.

It's really nice to see this work finally in print.

Keep your eyes peeled. by @lois_reflections

A few photos from Sunday at @theearlydoorsclub 📸🎶

The wonderful local band @chimaeras.banduk . I’ve seen these guys a few times now, and they really know how to draw in a crowd, and keep them there!

Cracking music, a few wise jokes between songs and a brilliant atmosphere throughout.
