Moving image mock-up for @botter.world This film is a playful & fun exploration of Caribbean dance & heritage, with dancers dressed in Botter’s signature bright colours, fluid silhouettes, and juxtaposed against this industrial, European landscape. Choreography, inspired by Jamaican dancehall and street, blends sharp footwork with grounded, communal gestures. Their movement, albeit young and playful, becomes an act of rebellion and liberation: a refusal to shrink cultural expression to fit the muted backdrop. The dancers embody a fluid entity – one that moves globally through cultures and countries. A tongue-in-cheek energy runs through this film’s visual language. The editing shifts between fluid movement and bursts of still images; this blend creates a rhythm that is both humorous and unexpected; referential of Botter’s previous designs of toy cars as jewellery and condoms filled with water wrapped around hands. This is also echoed through the sound design, with its traditional Caribbean time signature and inserts of Dutch Composers to reflect the ‘Botter’ founders Dutch/Caribbean heritage blend. A brand that prides itself deeply in its heritage, this film collides movement, fashion, environment and film in this vivid statement of identity and evidences the brand’s power to bring the Caribbean’s vibrancy to industrial, urban spaces.
