A little life update. 🤍
To my clients who continue to reach out and remind me they’re excited for me to come back. My friends & family who have shown up for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. The ones who have taken me to lunch and cut my food for me when I couldn’t . The ones who brought me flowers and goodies when I just got back from the hospital. The ones who do my hair because I am unable. My amazing boss @mamastyleshair and team @salonalexandriachs who have handled all of my clients and making sure they continue to get the best treatment while I am away. Ultimately above all, my support system is what’s got me by. I am truly blessed.

And most importantly, thank you to myself for continuing to pick myself back up on the days when I felt like there was no hope.

When I first heard I couldn’t do hair for 4–12 months, I absolutely spiraled. Hair has been my identity for the past 5 years, and suddenly, so much of my life felt completely worthless and out of my control. So I gave it to God.🤍

I wouldn’t be human if I shared all of this without acknowledging that the hard days were really, really hard. It took me weeks to finally feel ready to get on here and share what’s been going on in my life. This journey hasn’t been easy, and there were days that completely took over who I was, my dreams, goals, and creative ideas. But now im here standing 10 toes down on what I’ve always belived in. Positivity. Life gives us so many reasons to hate it but you have every reason to show it your perserverance. I’m learning that when life doesn’t go according to plan, we still get to choose how we move through it. And at the end of the day, this is just a broken elbow. People are facing battles far greater than mine, and I’m incredibly grateful that no other part of my body was injured.

Life has taught me that you can let the hard times be a setback, or it can be an opportunity, a chance for life to show you a new perspective, or find gratitude in what you’re capable of, and take time to reflect the person you want to be, and the creative goals you’ve always wanted to pursue.

It’s almost been one year since I made the cross-country move from Las Vegas to Charleston from my family and all I’ve ever known… and dang. Life doesn’t have to stay the way you’ve always known it. One decision can change everything. If there’s a life you keep dreaming about, get up and chase it. The time is going to pass either way.
