One day in 1995, while working at The Old Country Market, you will get asked to go on a date. It is very important that you say yes. You will soon fall in love with this man, get married, buy a house, and start a family. For a quarter of a century there will be so much love, laughter, and adventure. There will be health challenges, sadness, and the loss of a very important person but you will do it all together. You will pour everything into raising the two people whom you are so immensely proud of. You will indeed have married your best friend. Happy 25th wedding anniversary. Luna, Looney Tune, Tuna. The very best worst dog in the whole world. Biter of small children, hater of every delivery person. Lover of ball hockey, the water, adventures, nighttime zoomies, and treats. She had incredible “big dog” energy and our kids adored her from the minute she arrived from Mexico 13 1/2 years ago. To know her was to love her, and I am so grateful she’s been there for the both of them in good times and bad. She lived an incredible 17 years full of zest even until one of her last days. Thanks for taking care of my babies Mama Lune. I gotcha from here. by @lolojules

Special day for a special girl, celebrated with the most special people. Our little family are all now KSS alumni, which is pretty sweet. Love this small town, the nostalgia, the traditions, and our baby girl now ready to go forth. by @lolojules

Our baby girl, wrapped in the love of so many. What a day celebrating all the great youth of our community, and appreciating the wonderful work everyone has put into reaching this incredible milestone for the class of 2026. Family, friends who are family, a cousin, long time besties and a new bestie who has became an integral part of our girlie’s life. Just a brief snapshot of it all. by @lolojules

I recently received my long service award for 25 years spent Island Health, working as a RN. I can’t help but feel incredible pride as my daughter embarks on her BScN education journey this fall in Prince George. She will carry on an incredible family legacy in health care- 4 generations of women devoted to acts of service above self, and advancement of the profession. This include my maternal Nana (who completed the schooling but was unable to work as nurse), my mom with a long career including years spent educating future nurses, and my sister who is currently working as a RPN and completing her degree. Jules has grown up being exposed to the wide variety of roles I’ve held, and seen firsthand the difference nurses can make. She possesses the very best traits a nurse can have. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes her. by @lolojules

“Be the woman you needed when you were younger…” is some of the best advice I have ever been given. How wonderful to have known these bonus daughters for over 6 years now. Countless car rides, fro-yo trips, insane laughter in hotel rooms, cheers, tears, and a lot of shopping. Soccer brought us together, but it has been so so much more that has kept us in each other’s lives. I am so proud of who they are, and who they have yet to become❤️. by @lolojules

The culmination of the learn to run program was today’s Mother’s Day 5 km. My initial goal was to complete it with a sub 35 min. I did it in 30 min 48 sec, finishing 5th in my division, 38th out of the females and 64th overall. I completely broke down running past my cheering squad! Feeling so loved from this crew. Here’s to strong bodies and the wonderful mental health benefits that come from exercise in any form you choose. by @lolojules

14 weeks of showing up for myself and my new running buddies. 14 weeks of being consistent, pushing myself, and getting out of the house. 3 x a week of endless pavement pounding and enduring all kinds of weather. Tonight during the 20 min stretch of straight running I averaged 6.38 per km. Definitely couldn’t do that in January. As a bonus I’ve lost 22 lbs but really gained so much more! by @lolojules

I am pretty sure we aren’t ready… but she definitely is! The teeny tiny preemie, the baby of the family. The missing piece in our parenting puzzle. Brave of heart, determined, empathetic, capable, adventurous and so loved. She is composed of our very best parts, and yet completely her own person. As we get close to International Women’s Day, I can’t help but feel proud of the young woman she has grown into. The future is indeed female. by @lolojules

Everyone talks about how you only have 18 years with them at home, and the importance of making every moment count. What they don’t tell you is that you in fact have way longer. That there is such joy in spending time with your adult children. Vacationing with fully formed humans is amazing. Everyone carries their own things, everyone gets time to do what they want. There is long meals full of laughter, there is outings with no one complaining. These 7 days have been a gift for my soul, and I am so grateful for the memories made. by @lolojules

Big big day! Our “baby” heads off to her first day of grade 12. After many many years Daddio got the pleasure of being home to send this girlie off. She is excited, I am emotional, we all can’t wait to see where this journey takes her. Go forth little one. You are so loved. by @lolojules
