Ask Laura Ayoub (@lolypole) how she ended up running Lebanon’s pole scene and she’ll tell you it was an accident. Known to her followers as Lolypole, she spent close to a decade in restaurants after studying hotel management, until a bachelorette party in France put her in front of a pole for the first time. That was it. Today, she runs Pole Fit Lebanon (@polefitlebanon) and organizes the Lebanon Pole Championship (@lebanonpolechampionship) the first competition of its kind in the country.

6 months of you. 6 months of us. 🤍

Six months ago, my heart grew in a way I didn’t know was possible.
The most beautiful, intense, exhausting, emotional, overwhelming, humbling, challenging ongoing journey of my life. A journey filled with a kind of love so powerful it can almost hurt and with moments of hardship that have pushed me further than I ever thought I could go mentally and physically.

Andy, even though you came as a surprise, you have expanded my heart beyond anything I could have imagined. You’ve shown me a version of myself I didn’t know existed. A version that can function on interrupted sleep, with the most mental load I have ever carried, hear you in my sleep through two closed doors, smile until my heart bursts, cry from a broken nervous system, pushing through breastfeeding and somehow still find more love to give. You are by far the most toxic relationship I’ve ever had 😂The more I get to know you the more I think you’re cool buddy! But most days I still can’t believe you’re mine!

And I celebrate me too 🙌🏼

Six months of questioning myself, trusting myself, figuring it out one day at a time. 6 month of sacrificing my lifestyle, of challenging some of my personality traits, of hormonal rollercoasters and of questioning my strength! It hasn’t always been easy, but I am proud of this journey and of the mother I am becoming so far.

I didn’t do it alone, to John, to our families especially the grandmothers, to Merriah for taking such good care of Polefit, and every person who has shown up for us — with a hug, a helping hand, kind ears, curiosity or simply a “you’re doing great” when I needed to hear it most — thank you!!

Happy 6 months, my Andy. You have shifted all my priorities. May you grow up healthy, happy and kind ❤️ by @lolypole
