SCRIBBLES

Scribbles begins with a moment of instinct. Conceived by Loman Pawlitschek as a break from established ways of working, the project was developed under her artistic direction with the Loman Art Team.

At its core is the line. Often treated as a starting point or a draft, it is brought forward here as the work itself. The “scribble” is not a sketch to be refined, but a language in its own right—direct, immediate, and expressive.

Through repetition and layering, these gestures build into forms that move between control and release, structure and unpredictability. What appears spontaneous carries its own internal logic.

The exhibition also includes works by Barkinardo Bocoum, Ibrahima Balayara, and Momar Seck, whose practices engage with gesture, abstraction, and the expressive potential of line. Each brings a distinct approach, expanding the conversation across different materials and rhythms.

M O M A R S E C K

Momar Seck is a Senegalese-Swiss visual artist, sculptor, researcher, and educator whose multidisciplinary practice moves between painting, sculpture, and visual experimentation. His work explores harmony, identity, and human connection through textured compositions and symbolic forms developed between Senegal and Switzerland.

Within “SCRIBBLES,” his work contributes to the exhibition’s dialogue around movement, material, and expressive visual language.

Barkinado Bocoum is a Senegalese visual artist based in Dakar and a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Dakar. His work combines abstraction, geometry, layered compositions, and expressive line work to create dynamic visual structures that balance rhythm and fragmentation.

His practice reflects a strong interest in experimentation, movement, and contemporary visual language within the evolving Senegalese art scene.
