how lucky i am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

words alone can’t describe how much this season meant to me not just because i’m a senior, but because this season completely changed my perspective on cheerleading.

my preseason wasn’t the perfect start, as many of you know. honestly, i thought i wasn’t even going to cheer my senior year of all-star, and that devastated me. but i worked hard, pushed through it, and came back to the sport i love most.

although this season didn’t end with the picture-perfect ending i dreamed of, what we put on the mat today was incredible. i’ll forever be thankful for the athletes and coaches who surrounded me, supported me, and pushed me to become the person and athlete i am today. the opportunities this program gave me are something i’ll never take for granted.

nine years in this program feels like both a lifetime and the blink of an eye. it feels like just yesterday i was on a prep team, and now i’ve competed my last d2 summit.

this program gave me more than just a sport it gave me a family. teammates and coaches i’ve grown to love, people i know i can still reach out to years from now.

to my teammates: thank you. whether i’ve known you for years or only one season, every single one of you has impacted my life in some way. you are some of the strongest, most resilient, and talented athletes i’ve ever had the privilege to share the mat with, and i’ll always be cheering you on wherever life takes you.

and to the people i’ve met throughout this program, thank you for helping me grow not only as an athlete, but as a person. a special thank you to @samshain_94 for years of guidance, lessons, and support through practices and tumbling privates when i was younger. your words and coaching have stayed with me through every step of my journey.

this may not be the end of my cheer career, but it is the end of my all-star career something that has been part of me for as long as i can remember.

i’m forever grateful for these nine years, this season, and everyone who was part of it.
