post-Dicks Colorado mountain escape with Degges… a non-negotiable for Londrel for flying to Colorado to see Phish is to get into the mountains for some time. How could you just spend the entire time in the concrete-highway hell-hole of commerce city!? Even a trip to Boulder is better than nothing. Labor Day also makes it easy to add an extra day to your trip as to not fly home on that holiday Monday. If you can swing it, of course. So Degges and I, being the thrill seekers that we are, jumped in the Nashville Subaru and headed west towards Leadville. We spent all of Monday afternoon driving out there, making many stops along the way… including the most frigid and delicious mountain lake, which I couldn’t resist stripping to take a dip in. The colors of the changing aspens were breathtaking. Even for a colorblind boy. We had plenty of CD’s to get us through with the most sensational vibrations: Surrender to the Air (bring it back @treyanastasio), Colonel Bruce Hampton, and so on. The sunset was never ending. It went on for hours. Even to when we were pulling into Leadville at night. Being at that altitude is something else. Shoutout to Karisma at the Leadville Saloon. I’ll never forget your cosmic and karismatik energy. Shoutout to the Leadville Saloon! That Martin acoustic was perfect. Left my heart and my skateboard (by accident, no joke) in Leadville, CO! This is the last clip featuring my board… i left it outside the hotel before getting in the car and didn’t realize until we got to Boulder that it wasn’t in the car. At least the hotel has it so maybe we’ll be reunited. by @londrel
