Hi Bookstagram, I'm finally making my debut! I've been scrolling through all my favourite Bookstagram accounts for years before finally being encouraged to give my own a go!

So, hi! My name's Lucy, in the real world I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse living in the South East of the UK. I am bisexual, living with my girlfriend and my dog. Other than reading, I love tattoos, Dungeons & Dragons, gaming and doing escape rooms with friends.

My favourite book genres are sci-fi, horror and fantasy with my favourite authors being V.E. Schwab, Rachel Gillig and Pierce Brown.

So if any of this vibes with you (or if you're just morbidly curious), then stick around to hear what else I have to yap about!

Working solely on night shifts as a vet nurse has ups and downs. One of the ups being a nice chunk of time off between shifts and one of the downs being a full 7 nights of 13.5 hour shifts 😅

Posting on Instagram or doing anything outside of work during that week is very difficult especially when you have ridiculously busy weeks like the one I just had.

That being said, I did make some progress! I had already started Blacktail the week before so this was really just the end of the book. And audio books I can listen to whilst getting more of my set up and admin-y style jobs.

Keeping up with my reading goals whilst working long night shifts is definitely challenging but I'm so determined to get through my October reads 🎃

I'm close to the end of Blacktail to be fair and actually really enjoying it. I'll also be posting a review of Daggermouth soon 🖤

I also did not pre-make much Bookstagram content before starting my night shift block which was a dumb idea 🙃

Have you guys read any of the books on this post? Any you loved or maybe not loved so much?

My wishlist constantly wishes for me to be less broke 😅

I so nearly broke and bought Slasher Summer but I sadly managed some self (shelf) control this time around. Instead I'll stick to the stacks I've got lying around at home still 🙃

Anniversary presents from the best girlfriend, @ac_bookishthings 🖤

I've heard really good things about Between Two Fires and it's been on my TBR for so long now!

This was such a fun reel to make and also a little harder than expected 😅 some of these are questionable in terms of colour matching but just shhhhh, don't worry 🤫

Would any of these books make it onto your bookish palette?

Been meaning to get this review out ages ago but life has been... Well, life. So now I'm behind on reviews 😅

I know reviews don't tend to do too well but I like sharing my thoughts on books so I do plan to post some. I did warn you guys that I could yap!

This book was such a sweet, wholesome, cozy adventure. What did you guys think of it? 🌊🌈

Some wonderfully surprising news for tonight - I'm going to be an ARC reader for The Salt In Our Blood by T. Rene Thornhill!!

From the moment a post for this book appeared on my page, I was drawn in. Gods, secrets and mysterious strangers? Count me in!

I cannot wait to get into this one! 🌊🩸🗡️♥️

Thank you so much for inviting me on this journey @t.renethornhill 🖤

A wonderful experience that was technically a gift for my girlfriend and I was just lucky that she bought me along 😅

A full sleepover at the Natural History Museum meant lots of things, walking through all the corridors in complete silence with barely another soul around and reading THE dinosaur book in that gorgeous building was incredible.

Thank you @ac_bookishthings for letting me be your plus one 🖤

It took me several attempts but I did manage it eventually! And I love her! Turns out roaring back at them works!

September Stack!

The Knave and The Moon was without a doubt my favourite book from this month with DCC in second place 🖤 Threshing Day was obviously heartbreaking but was also 👩‍🍳💋

I really enjoyed Project Hail Mary as well, it was great to read all the extra parts not included in the film 🚀

I think if it has badass dragons, I'm happy 😊

What were your favourite books from September?

Short but sweet 🖤

Threshing Day did exactly what it said it would and it was exactly what I needed. As expected, Liam and Sloane's chapters had me in tears 😢

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Bodhi and Sawyer's chapters as well! Mira's chapter also hit quite hard and now I hope to see more of her in the next series installment.

I don't want to give any spoilers but the last line of Liam's chapter... Rebecca, did you kiss that brick before you threw it? 💀
