🦕 well Peacefest was a trip and I am so happy with all the people who came through 🥲 With a bunch of new people on here after Fox Glove, Lake Orion, and Grand Rapids… I thought maybe one of those “Hi this is me” posts might be helpful 🤷‍♀️ I’m Andie, and I currently make decorative pieces for your body and spaces! I have a BFA from CCS where I concentrated on furniture making and design. I worked in large fabrication of furniture/kitchen/bathroom for about 10 years before moving into smaller forms of artwork. I have an interest in creating works from once-breathing sources, and adorning them as a way of celebrating and displaying what is usually buried or forgotten. I am a mix of Irish/Scottish/Ojibwe-Anishinaabe (Sault St Marie) and have lived in Det since about 2010 after growing up in Waterford. I have a teensy garden of vegetables and 9 rose bushes. I weave rugs sometimes on a 4shaft floor loom, and have a bad habit of self-haircuts. I loooove making Halloween costumes for my son and Hubs. I am pretty private most of the time but do share bits of my family here on occasion 😈😈🥗💥🍉 taken in Southwest Detroit by @long_stairs

After nearly 2 years in the ground my sister and I dug up a couple of skulls and legs. The earth and the crawlies did their thing!

Guys. I have a space to make things again 🥲
Truly I do love making my house a home, repairs and ✨situations✨ have taken more time than I’d expected. I’m hopeful that the season of settling in lends me some time to be intentional about the materials and processes that feel less like stress and foundation building and more like…. (Its a feeling but I’m without a word) 🌞 by @long_stairs

Been quiet a couple months as I packed up my home and studio. I’m a lil overwhelmed with the unpack (this is just a glimpse of the sea of boxes and chaos). I’m also a lil embarrassed at the anxiety and dread this move caused in my life…. I’ve moved before and people do every day, but this one was different for me. After almost 10 years there I had felt that I was in my forever neighborhood, forever house. I had a lot of friends in the neighborhood, I walked and biked around, and there has been significant changes in the area during/post covid with new businesses and major park upgrades. Yikes I’m rambling, but it’ll still be fewer posts for a while as I figure my spaces out, and do repairs on this new home. We’re still in Det, but in a completely different area, and I’m hoping it feels more like home soon. by @long_stairs
