Absolutely thrilled to let you all know that we will have a trunk show of @longdogyarn’s gorgeous work during the @centralkansasyarnhop in just under two weeks!

This will be an in-store only trunk show, and will be available for the whole week of the crawl, from Tuesday October 20th through Saturday October 24th. Brandy sent her Abhorsen collection on Sock and DK, as well as her Over The Garden Wall spinning fiber, and some magical sparkle yarn too 🪄

Happy WIP Wednesday!

I’ve just started on the second sleeve of my Firth sweater (by @the.creabea) last night. Will we have a finished object by the end of the weekend?! 🧐

I’m using Astarael from the Abhorsen Collection on our new Alpaca DK yarn and I LOVE it so much! The variegation is subtle and so beautiful. by @longdogyarn

We will have mini skein sets for the Abhorsen Collection. Each set will include the seven variegated colors from the collection on your choice of either Merino Sock or Yak Sock.

Mini skeins are 20g each, so each set includes 140g total. by @longdogyarn

MOGGET

Our final Abhorsen Collection color (and the only tonal) is inspired by the Abhorsen’s (not always faithful) servant and companion, Mogget.

Mogget is the bound form of Yrael, the Eighth Bright Shiner, who was bound to serve the Abhorsen. For Sabriel, he appears as a small white cat with a big appetite and an even bigger attitude.

Mogget’s color is inspired by his cat form, being a warm, oat-colored white. Due to its very pale coloring, Mogget will not be available on the yak yarn bases.

ASTAREAL
the weeper

We have arrived at the last of Abhorsen’s bells - Astareal, the weeper. The largest of the bells, Astareal throws those who hear it, including its wielder, into Death.

Astareal features layers of swirling emerald green, ghostly iris, and deepest midnight blue, calling to mind the iridescent glow of a raven’s feather.

The Abhorsen Collection opens for preorder this Saturday, Sept 26 at 4pm MT. We plan to keep the collection open until Oct 31 with orders fulfilled on a rolling basis with a 4-6 week turnaround time.

SARANETH
the binder

Saraneth is the deepest of Abhorsen’s bells, binding the listener to yield to the wielder’s will.

On Mogget’s collar, you’ll find a miniature version of Saraneth, used to bind Yrael in the form of Mogget to the Abhorsen for centuries until Sabriel took up the mantle, when it was replaced with a small version of Ranna, the sleeper.

To mirror the deep tone of Saraneth, you’ll find swirling layers of golden maple, deepest plum red, and glowing garnet.

The Abhorsen Collection launches on Sept 26 at 4pm MT. Ordering will remain open until Oct 31 with orders fulfilled on a rolling basis and a 4-6 turnaround window.

BELGAER
the thinker

One of Abhorsen’s trickiest bells to master, Belgaer enables the Dead to think for themselves, although it can also be used to erase memories. Due to its ability to restore independent thought, Belgaer is hated by most other Necromancers of the Old Kingdom. Sabriel also used this bell to finally free Mogget after centuries of being forced to serve the Abhorsen.

Belgaer features layers of antiqued rose, weathered moss, and worn, leather green reminiscent of the Book of the Dead.

DYRIM
the speaker

The most musical of Abhorsen’s bells, Dyrim rings true with a pretty & clear tone that allows speech, but can also still the tongue of one who speaks too freely.

Featuring swirling layers of pale taupe, antique lilac, and dusky sage green with faded rose speckles, Dyrim is reminiscent of soft, forgotten tune you heard somewhere before but you just can’t place.

KIBETH
the walker

The third of Abhorsen’s bells, Kibeth is a difficult & tricksome bell that yearns to sound on its own accord. In the hands of an experienced wielder, it can be used to make those who hear it go where desired, including far into Death.

Kibeth features swirling layers of rich boysenberry, darkest aubergine, and deep slate grey in a hue reminiscent of a certain Disreputable Dog.

The Abhorsen Collection launches on September 26 at 4pm MT.

MOSRAEL
the waker

Mosrael is a raucous, rowdy bell which brings the Dead back to Life, but for a price, causing its wielder to fall into Death. With the right wielder, Mosrael can also be used reveal secrets, like the hidden door leading to Abhorsen’s house in the Old Kingdom.

With swirling shades of antiqued rose, bronze, and deep maroon and a dusting of plum speckles, Mosrael recalls the hues of an early autumnal sunrise, with the first rays of color breaking through the trees of an ancient woods.
