Too busy, too tired, or "not a proper runner"? That's exactly who we coach.

That's why we don't start with a plan. We start with YOU: your time, your life, your body and your history. Then we build training that fits and flexes when life happens.

Chasing your first 5K, eyeing a spring half marathon, or just want to feel strong and confident again (perimenopause included)? We'd love to help.

👉 DM us the word TIME and we'll book a free 15minute chat to map out how much training time you really have.

Which step would make the biggest difference for you? Tell us 1 - 5 below. (It's step 2 for us 👀)

🏅 MEDAL MONDAY 🏅

What a Halloween weekend for our LRC women! Four brilliant runs, three different races, and plenty of smiles shared with friends along the way.

Lucy and Tanyka ran the Tommy Run iun Seaham
This historic 10km along the beautiful Seaham seafront takes in road, promenade and coastal trails, starting at the iconic Tommy statue by artist Ray Lonsdale. Officially titled 1101 (Eleven-O-One), it shows a WWI soldier reflecting in the first minute of peace after the Armistice, and each race begins with a minute's silence. A really special race to be part of, especially as Remembrance approaches.

Despite the chilly coastal conditions, both had fantastic runs with friends. Tanyka crossed the line in 53 mins and Lucy in 58 mins.

Clare raced the Croft 10km
Clare's consistency really shone through as she ran her fastest 10km in two years, finishing in 1hr 28. Proof that showing up week after week pays off.

Whilst over in the Lakes Jo was running the Lakeland Trails 15km
Jo rolled her ankle right at the start, but she wasn't going to let those beautiful trail running conditions go to waste! She enjoyed every mile with friends.

Whether it's a coastal 10km, a hard-earned comeback or a trail adventure in the Lakes, these runs are a reminder of what LRC is all about: consistency, community and enjoying every step.

Huge congratulations, ladies!

No one cares about your parkrun PB.

Or your first 5km at 50.

Or the run you squeezed in before work on four hours’ sleep.

WE DO.

Because every runner has a story. The busy days, the tired legs, the comeback after time off, the run that took more courage than anyone else could see.

We’re here for the PBs, of course but we’re just as here for the small wins, the fresh starts and the runs that make you feel alive and remind you what you’re capable of.

You don’t have to be the fastest, run the furthest or hit a particular time to belong here.

Every run counts. Every runner matters.

So tell us, what’s a run you’re quietly proud of this year? We’d love to celebrate it with you.

MEDAL MONDAY - Caroline at the Marine Corps Marathon 🇺🇸

Some miles mean so much more than the finish line.

This Medal Monday, we're celebrating Caroline, who took on the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. for a very special reason.

The race was a celebration of her husband's retirement from the Marines, with Caroline and her family also fundraising for Rising Hearts and the Hopi Cancer Assistance Fund.

As Caroline beautifully reflected after the race:

“The race was a celebration for my husband’s retirement from the Marines, and we fundraised for Rising Hearts and the Hopi Cancer Assistance Fund. The miles were meaningful and I am grateful to be able to run and celebrate life … Askwali.”

What a powerful reminder of what running can represent. It's not just about the distance, the training or the medal around your neck. It's about the people we share it with, the causes we care about, the milestones we celebrate and the gratitude we feel for being able to do what we love.

Caroline, congratulations on your marathon and on making every mile count for something bigger. We're so pleased to celebrate you and the meaning behind this incredible achievement.

Here's to running with purpose, celebrating life and being in it for the long run.

Got a half marathon, marathon or ultra coming up, but your stomach struggles to eat or drink on the run? or you just don't eat and drink!

Suzie couldn't either. One gel in four hours was all she could manage, and she was even scared to drink water incase it upset her stomach. Eight weeks later, she fuelled her way around the Yorkshire Marathon with 50g of carbs an hour, no stomach issues, and a 17 minute PB.

So what changed? It didn't start with gels. It started with her everyday eating.

We carry eating habits built years ago, often to hold on to the body we had in our 20s. But our bodies have evolved, and so have we. We're stronger and wiser now, and we need smarter fuel, not less of it.

With our Fuel to Thrive programme supporting her everyday eating and gut health, Suzie slept, recovered and trained better. Then, on her long runs, we practised her race-day plan step by step until fuelling felt normal.

At LRC, we understand both running and real life. We look at your training, your sleep and how you feel, work with you on a nutrition plan that works for you and support you every step of the way.

If you would like guidance around your own nutrition join our Fuel to Thrive workshop on Wednesday 11th November at 6.30pm. Sign up via the link in our bio.

Struggling to eat or drink when you run? Suzie was too.

Two months before the Yorkshire Marathon, she could barely manage one gel on a 20 mile run, and was even scared to drink water.

It wasn’t her training holding her back. It was her fuelling.

So we started with Fuel to Thrive: reviewing her everyday eating and gut health, which in turn improved her sleep and elevated her training and recovery. That became the foundation for Fuel to Perform, where we practised her race day plan on every long run until 50g or more of carbs an hour felt easy.

The result? At 58 years old, a 17 minute marathon PB, no stomach issues and a smile all the way around.

No generic gel chart. Just a plan built around her body, adjusted every step of the way.

Want to feel more confident about your fuelling? Join our Fuel to Thrive workshop on Wednesday 11th November at 6.30pm. Sign up via the link in our bio.

🏅 Marathon Medal Monday 🏅

What a weekend at the Yorkshire Marathon, and we couldn't be prouder of Huw, Suzie and Ailsa.

Huw ran a massive 13 minute PB, finishing in 3:29 and setting up his winter training for a huge 2027.

Suzie's story is one we know so many runners will recognise. When she first came to us through Fuel to Thrive, she couldn't eat anything while running without stomach upsets, and it was holding her back. It's so common, and it doesn't mean you're not built for marathons. Often your gut just hasn't been trained to handle fuel on the move. So over the last few months, Suzie practised step by step, in her training and her everyday eating, and we adjusted things along the way whenever her stomach said no. On Sunday she ran a very strong 4:43, eating and drinking her way around with no GI issues at all, and finished with the biggest smile. A major breakthrough. Well done, Suzie, for being so open to trying!

And busy mum of two Ailsa ran her very first marathon in a brilliant 4:04, with Fuel to Thrive supporting her fuelling and hydration along the way.

Anyone can Google a gel schedule but having someone who understands your body, adapts your plan and reassures you when things go wrong is what turns race day into a day you enjoy.

If you have marathon goals for 2027, are inspired by these three and want to know how LRC could help, book a free chat via the link in our bio. We love seeing runners enjoy their marathons!

If you nodded along to more than one of these, you're not alone.

Lots of midlife runners are eating good, healthy food and still feel exhausted. Overcoming that feeling is rarely about eating less or trying harder. It's about eating in a way that fits your training, your busy days and your changing body.

In Fuel to Thrive, we look at your whole week, from your training and sleep to how you feel day to day, and find the changes that will make the biggest difference for you.

Want to find out what's really draining your energy? Comment DIARY and we'll send you our free 3 Day Fuel to Thrive Diary as a starter.

🏅 MEDAL MONDAY - BECKY’S FIRST 10km! 🏃‍♀️

Today, we’re celebrating something far bigger than a finish time. We’re celebrating courage, confidence and the power of taking that first step.

Earlier this year, Becky was just starting her running journey. Fast forward to today, and she’s crossed the finish line of the Town Moor 10K in an amazing 1 hour and 12 minutes!

Taking on a new challenge can feel daunting. The doubts, the nerves, the “can I actually do this?” moments but every run, every step outside your comfort zone and every time you show up for yourself builds towards something bigger.

At Long Run Collective, we believe running isn’t just about pace, PBs or how fast you cross the finish line. It’s about discovering what you’re capable of, building confidence and achieving things you might once have thought were out of reach.

Many congratulations Becky.

💬 Tell us below: what’s the running challenge you once thought you couldn’t do, but now you’re so glad you took on?

Let’s celebrate the milestones, big and small. Because every runner has a starting line by @longruncollective

Try these banded warm-up exercises and then tell us how awesome your run felt.

A good running warm-up doesn’t need to be complicated. A resistance band and a few simple movements can help you activate your glutes, wake up your hips and prepare your body for the demands of running.

Before your next run, try these 4 banded warm-up exercises…

1. Banded Steps - take 10 controlled steps in each direction to get your glutes working and prepare your hips for running.

2. Banded Marches - drive your knees up with control, keeping tension on the band to challenge your hip flexors and hip stability.

3. Banded Kickbacks at different angles - kick back at different angles to activate your glutes and get your hips moving through different ranges of motion.

4. Banded Front-to-Back Swings - swing your leg around from front to back in a controlled motion to engage your hip stability.

Keep it controlled. Stay consistent. Make your warm-up count. We’d start with 10 reps for each exercise and use a light resistance band.

This is the kind of practical support we believe in at Long Run Collective — helping you build strength, improve mobility and feel more confident in your running.

Save this post for your next run and follow along for more running warm-ups, strength exercises and running tips.

Want to feel stronger in your running? DM STRONG and we’ll send you the details of our 6 week Strong Runner Programme.
