"I get up super early, make myself a cup of coffee, and gradually flow into the day," says @fmuytjens. "Just listening to the birds, puttering in the garden, and see the sun come up. There's nothing more magical." Head to Lonny to check out @theinnatkenmorehall and its enchanting garden.

Have you ever dreamed of leaving the city behind and starting a new life in the countryside? If so, you're in luck. Drawing on their own experiences of having traded city life in Paris for the Forest of Fontainebleau, authors @estelle_marandon , @gesahansen , and @charlottehuguet explore the art of "countryfication" in their latest book, Coming Home To Nature. "We wanted to create the kind of guide that we would have loved to have consulted before making this major transition ourselves; one that could hopefully help those who dream of a different life, but are concerned about taking the plunge," says Marandon. Head to Lonny.com for the authors' tips on creating culture in the countryside, rediscovering your roots, and making the most of your new outdoor space. @countryfication @flammarionlivres @flammarioninternational Photos by @nathaliemohadjer and Stéphanie Füssenich by @lonnymag

In our very first issue of Lonny, published back in October of 2009, we featured the garden and home of @deborahneedleman , one of the greatest editors of all time. The photos still take our breath away all these years later, so we thought it was the perfect feature to resurface from our archives.

Growing up in a New Jersey suburb, Needleman found herself surrounded by lawns and landscaping, not gardens; she discovered them through literature. In her late 20s, she finally got her hands dirty when she could not ignore the need to garden any longer. "I was spending all my time reading and thinking and fantasizing about gardens, yet I had never actually done it," says Needleman. A product of her growing knowledge as well as the much appreciated advice of expert friends and colleagues (her "gardening girlfriends"), it has become a lush, fragrant expanse of greens, vegetables, and flowers. Feeling untethered? Interior designer and author @olganaiman believes your home can help. In her new book, Spatial Alchemy, she explores how intentional design choices — color, layout, even furniture legs — can bring a sense of stability during uncertain times. We featured her insights on Lonny this week, along with her simple, soulful ideas for creating a home that grounds you. Head to Lonny for the full feature.

Pattern, color, and a whole lot of Texas charm. When designer @calliejenschke moved back to Austin from NYC, she brought her signature globally inspired aesthetic with her—first launching @supplyshowroom, now a beloved design destination, and then layering her own home with a stunning forty-five patterns from its collection. We first featured Callie in Lonny back in August 2010, when her NYC apartment made the cover—showcasing a piece of art that now hangs in her son’s room. More than a decade later, her layered, eclectic style is as vibrant as ever, both at home and in her showroom. Head to Lonny to take a tour!

“I see a future where every household has a hydroponic garden, just like it has a refrigerator or a pantry,” says @lettucegrow co-founder @jacobpechenik. “We have to move to a more localized, scalable, and efficient food production system that guarantees access to clean, nutritious produce for all—especially in the face of environmental challenges, supply chain disruptions, and future price shocks.” Head to Lonny to learn more about these innovative, easy-to-use farmstands—no green thumb required! by @lonnymag

When it comes to holiday decorating, you won’t find any trendy seasonal decor in this house. “I don’t believe in changing my point of view just because of the calendar,” says designer and author @markdsikes. “We create festive holiday celebrations, but we do them our way, according to the taste of our house.”

Mark’s Hollywood Hills home has long been a favorite of the Lonny team. Photographed twelve years ago, it remains a stunning testament to timeless design—we’d happily call it home today. Head to Lonny.com to explore the full feature and see how Mark hosts for Thanksgiving. by @lonnymag
