Just in case anyone out there is searching for a really good, ridiculously quiet air conditioner unit, look no further than the Midea Window AC unit. I have no idea how, but this little guy is keeping our entire house cool. (we got the 12,000 BTU/H one) Granted, our house has a super open layout. Anyway, central air is not top of our home improvement list, so I was super stoked to find this one at an excellent price point at Costco. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! It's like a little whisper when it's running, truly amazing. Ok, that's all I got. ☀️🫠 by @look2thecookie

Now, I am aware that my personal style is not pushing the limits of fashion, hardly that. However, a person I know straight scoffed at my bandana when I debuted it and so you can bet it is now in heavy rotation along with several others I have acquired. That's a little trick I learned from my mom waaay back in 5th grade, when the class bully used to make fun of me for wearing two scrunchies for one ponytail...I would just add more scrunchies the more she made fun of me. 😘 by @look2thecookie

Got to take my niece and sister in law, @lily.alara & @hollzryerson , on their first ever visit to the City. It was hot as hell but we got through it visiting the Natural History Museum, walking in the shade of Central Park (with ice cream), having a mellow hang (and cool beverage) in the West Village and getting to a Broadway show before the deluge. All hail NYC, an entirely untamable beast where anything can happen and all things are possible. I ❤️ NY by @look2thecookie

@genettejodi recently gave me this tiny River Moss Ball. I give it a shake every so often to simulate moving water so that it can maintain that lovely shape which, no doubt, earned it the name Bob Moss, aptly given by Genette's daughter, Hannah. We've had this wild boy, Scruffs, in our lives for two years, today! He came to us from the @animalwelfaresociety.inc as a hospice dog in Kidney failure. Well, as it turns out, his kidneys are not the best, but they're also not the worst and since he's been with us, he spreads joy to all he meets. He loves a good walk in the woods, a good swim in a stream and spending quality time on his most prized possession, his cot. He also loves Junebug and is quick to be her protector, even though she is the boss of all of us. Thank you, to the New Milford Animal Welfare Society for connecting wonderful dogs and cats with humans. Turns out, as much as animals need us, we humans very much need them too. Been sick for a few days. Woke up today feeling like a human again. Got out in the fresh air for a family walk in the woods. Snow on the ground, snow in the air, snow on the way. Tonight's walk will be a good one. Nothing like the quiet under a snowfall. @tridlon by @look2thecookie

'Twas three days before Christmas and I finally got a few little decorations out. While I don't really celebrate Christmas, I will always love this time of year for the music, lights, greenery and the chance to catch up with friends and family. I love that this freezing cold day made it so easy for me to stay cozy in my house, feed the fire, and dig out a few things that will give me joy for the next few days. Tristan tried his hand at making chicken and dumplings and it could not have been a more perfect meal for this day. I don't really know why I'm posting this other than to say, thank goodness for the simple pleasures and an evening of down time. by @look2thecookie

Hey guys! Today, I voted early and I have no idea why I've never done so before. It was a breeze and I feel, somehow, as though a weight has been lifted in doing so. Highly recommend!!!Also, this music was written by a guy named Antonin Dvorák. It's called The New World Symphony. Many of it's themes were inspired by both African American and Native American music that he experienced on his visit to America. This symphony is a spectacular journey and I love that it was his visit to America and his interaction with American music and musicians that inspired it's creation. (He was also a bit home sick, so there are definitely some Czech folk melodies represented in there too). Years ago, we were given an Old Town Canoe. It has two cracks on either side where it was probably strapped down a bit too aggressively in a past life. So, naturally, we duct taped them and haven't sunk yet. Junebug has always loved the canoe, but since we've had Scruffs, we haven't taken it out, being unsure of how he'd take to it (he really digs swimming while Buggy is more of a sunbather girly). Yesterday, was a glorious day for a paddle, so we decided to try our luck with both dogs in the canoe. Wouldn't you know, Scruffs is a Canoe dog after all! He didn't jump ship for ducks, boats, waves or even when we encountered friends with their dog on a paddle board. Good boy, Scruffs!I can't help but feel like the person we inherited this canoe from would be very pleased to know that it's being thoroughly enjoyed by our dogs (and us).
