Did you know Pa|€st|ne has one of the highest literacy ratings in the entire world? At almost 99.7%, Pa|€stinians far surpass the Un|ted St@tes, at 79%.

The entire Alzant family is a living representation of this fact. 7 of the 8 siblings in the Alzant family hold college degrees. Saged, being the youngest is only 16 and has yet to reach the age for university. Each and every one of them held esteemed jobs and lived full lives that they were very proud of in Gzza. Now they are living day to day amongst destroyed buildings, decimated infrastructure and barely surviving nearly constant bombardment.

Every single dollar from the Alzant families’ fundraiser is sent directly to Anas and his family in Gzza. At this point in the war, every single item a human needs to survive; food, water, medicines etc, are all extremely scarce and set at astronomical prices. Every single contribution matters and puts the family one footstep closer to their goal, so please consider donating🙏🏼

I was born, raised and steeped in the Western, Evangelical, Christian church into my early 20s.

Jesus was IT.

He was the ONE.

I can’t tell you how many of THOSE people, those “Christians” I grew up around, haven’t uttered a single syllable about the geno/cid€ of their Messiah’s descendants.

Almost 200,000 of his kin martyred..

Did you know there are more “Christian” Z|0nists than there are J€W|SH Z|0nists?

i know that i am terrified of loss, as if it could end me. as if it almost has. i live on the idea that things can stay “okay” within myself if i could freeze the “okay” moments, but the truth about moments is that they are fleeting, so fast that perhaps they aren’t real. like this moment, right now: it is so far past us already that i figure, well, maybe we should just stay in this one. we are losing moments as we speak, without realizing that they are not tangible. even when they deeply touch us. loss is flowing. this moment is all we have, really. and i want to love it, even if i lose it.

Grief is heavy and completely unpredictable…like uncharted territory. I’ve noticed that grief often times feels just like being lost, like being lost when you were a kid. Suppose it feels that way because Zack was my constant companion as a child. Intuitively, I can feel his spirit most when I’m in my heart, when I’m quiet and deeply connected to my own beating, human heart. The world of the mind, as useful as it is, can only provide so much, and up until recently, I’ve relied so heavily on my mind for the answers only my heart can intuit…but when I bring my awareness to my heart, I feel his spirit in all directions, like walking in two worlds.

I’ve visited and revisited this elder’s wisdom during past and present waves of grief and heartbreak. Grateful that I learn something new each time.

Quote from Vernon Foster:

“Because just like us Native people, if you are walking this spiritual road, you are walking in two worlds. Put both feet in the intuitive world of ceremony, both feet in the intellectual world of society, the only difference is now you’ve taken that intuitive side of yourself and placed in it your heart and it is always there”.
