Lately I’ve been trying to fill gaps in my handmade wardrobe with more neutral layering pieces.

It feels great to tick off two of those garments this week. A Big Love cardigan and Demeter Dress, which are just lovely together. I can’t wait to add leggings and boots to this outfit in the coming months!

Cardigan: #biglovecardigan by @ankestrick in a single strand of Plotülopi, Oatmeal colourway. I made the XS and used about 2.5 plates.

Dress: #demeterdress by @annaallenclothing in Merchant and Mills spot check linen.

I made view A size 00 and raised the neckline. With only two meters I chose to shorten the skirt to knee length and keep the selvedge at the hem.

So pleased with them both, they were a joy to make. I hope you’re having a good weekend whatever you’re up to!

She’s finally finished! Two years on my needles with a couple of long breaks. Once I got to the body I ran out of steam with the long rows of cables. Dropping the cable needle really helped to speed things up.

It needed an agressive blocking at the end and I definitely overdid it on the sleeves, but they’ll bounce back. It gave me much needed room in the arms and evened out the wavy button band. She’s a beauty, I’m all set for Winter now! 🤩

Winter Capsule 2026 ✨

For 5 years, Advent boxes have been a much-loved part of Loom’s festive season. This year, I’m doing something a little different.

Welcome to the Winter Capsule! Designed for makers who cherish the quiet rhythms of Winter. An invitation to slow down and savour the magic of colder days with a very special cast on.

The capsule includes a collection of three distinct Wintery shades; a light tonal, variegated speckle, and a dark tonal. Choose your preferred colours, the quantity and the base. Whether you’re planning a pair of socks, a shawl, or a sweater, you can tailor the contents of your box for the perfect cast-on.

At the heart of this collection is a very special collaboration with @alexcollinsdesigns, who will be creating a co-ordinating set of Fibre Jewel stitch markers: 13 markers made with cut glass and gold plated beads to add some lightweight luxury to your project. To sip alongside as you stitch, you’ll also receive a warm and spicy herbal organic tea blend sourced just 3 miles from the studio in Somerset.

Yarn choice: BFL Sock, Twist Sock, DK Sock, Suri Silk Lace: 50g (NSW), Alpaca Silk Cashmere 4ply (NSW), Alpaca Silk Cashmere DK (NSW), Alpaca Linen 4ply (NSW).

These beauties have arrived at Loop this week! LOOM Alpaca Linen. Hand-dyed by Jess of @loomwool in Somerset, England. Perfect for Summer knitting. They ‘ve just been delivered, along with five other bases from LOOM, and they’re in both our London shop + online.

Ah Big Flock, you were amazing again! Thank you so much to all of you who came to visit last weekend. I jumped straight back into dyeing when I got home, so have only just finished putting the online and studio shops back together. If there’s anything you had your eye on, it’s available now 🤗
