ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - SAMONE

Berlin-based producer and selector SamOne moves through the spaces between house, breaks and bass, building sets around swung rhythms, low-end pressure and records that refuse to sit too comfortably in one place.

Production has long been another side of SamOne’s musical world. Years spent working with samples now sit alongside his own sound design, an approach that has gradually taken shape across a growing catalogue of club-focused records.

That approach sits at the centre of Breakz N Harmony, his ongoing vinyl EP series on ShakeWell Music — the label and collective he helped establish between Jena, Halle, Leipzig and Berlin. Pressed to wax and finding their way onto record-store shelves across Berlin, the records have become a physical extension of the sound he has been steadily carving out.

Years spent digging, producing and playing everywhere from his hometown institution Kassablanca Jena to ShakeWell gatherings and Deck 2 Deck parties have shaped a style that moves freely without losing its thread — house giving way to breaks, rhythms slipping sideways and familiar structures gradually coming apart.

At AUFTAKT, SamOne brings the night to a close, taking the final stretch somewhere looser, stranger and a little less predictable. by @loopn_reiner

Across ten hours and strictly on vinyl, Auftakt brings together some of our favorite selectors in the scene for an extended journey through house, tech house, minimal, breaks and the spaces in between. Josefina Tapia takes an extended set, bringing the unmistakable tech-house sound that has been resonating across Berlin’s dancefloors. Dreimal T, fresh from his contribution Never Been To Detroit to Tresor Records’ recent ANNEX compilation, brings his gorgeous approach to house and its techier edges. Coppi Collective resident Johanna Elias moves between dreamy atmospheres and hot tech house, with plenty of energy pushers in the bag, while ShakeWell Music co-founder SamOne brings his own shape-shifting language of breaks, house, bass and rougher, dubby textures. Unlimited Euphoria co-founder DPM Javi digs into that point where techno bleeds into house, drawing from rare relics, lesser-heard cuts and sounds built to move the floor. Vernithius; the other of Unlimited Euphoria, weaves stripped-back tech house and minimal into a deep, rolling flow, built on subtle grooves and the understated details.

A long-anticipated release — and here it is!

Stereo.005 comes from our dear friend SamOne, a young and rising electronic music artist based in Berlin. Sam has already made waves with his Breakz n Harmony trilogy — in our opinion, he’s one of the best when it comes to breakz in new-school Germany.

This time, Sam crafted a record that he felt would perfectly fit our sound — and we absolutely loved it. The Delighted EP is born from a deep musical connection and a shared love for vinyl culture and the roots of house and electronic music.

We first met Sam in a small vinyl shop that doubles as a wine bar (for those who know ;) — geeking out over the records we pulled. From that moment, it was a match. Sam was already part of our very first release on Stereo09, and now, a little more than a year later, we’re proud to present Stereo.005 – Delighted EP by SamOne, available now on all platforms.
