OMG. @loose_rave_unit a few weeks back @marilynmatrix threw down this textured, spacious version of Psycho Killer which had me running back down the stairs @myaeonevents so hard I nearly fell over.

She really doesn’t mess around — this was only the warm-up.

@marilynmatrix and @visualaurax are two women who clearly understand the importance of light and shade.

The kind of artists who know that magic can be built in the space between 🫶✨

Really looking forward to seeing this gal in the Power Station for the opening night of @eatthebeatmelbourne HQ. taken in my aeon by @loose_rave_unit

Get ready to get schooled!

Melbourne-based DJ Marilyn Matrix draws on a rich background and training in performing arts, as well as years immersed in Berlin's unparalleled club scene.

This foundation fuels her ability to seamlessly blend diverse genres and deliver high-energy sets, all while deeply connecting with and responding to the crowd.

Inspired by the 90s and early 00’s rave scene, Marilyn blends dark, driving, and hypnotic shades of electronic music. Rooted in techno, but not confined, she moves fluidly through garage, acid, house, electro, breaks, minimal, hardgroove. Favouring raw, gritty textures, rolling basslines, and percussive depth, Marilyn melts past, present, and underground into a sound that feels both timeless and untamed

She has supported international artists such as Victor Ruiz, Oliver Huntemann, SLAM, Juliet Fox, Wehbba, Kolombo, Steve Bug, and Hannah Laing.

Marilyn Matrix is a resident DJ & Managed by
Eat the Beat. She can be found playing at renowned venues like Revolver Upstairs, New Guernica, One Six One, Storyville, Circus, Brown Alley, and Killing Time, to name a few.

Stoked to welcome Marilyn back to the Loose Rave Unit decks for another smashing session.

A true old-school legend of Melbourne’s techno and electronic underground, Steve has been there from the beginning. From the early days of Melbourne rave culture through to decades of releases on his own labels and international imprints, he’s been a constant force in Australian electronic music.

As a founding member of FSOM, alongside Josh Abrahams and Davide Carbone, Steve helped create some of Australia’s defining electronic music of the 90s. The trio took home the 1996 ARIA Award for Best Dance Release for Chapter One, played Big Day Out alongside The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, and took FSOM to Denmark’s legendary Roskilde Festival in 1999, and in more recent times playing with likes of Co-EXST, Triple Drop and PanFutureTechno representing in Melbourne’s underground techno scene.

Steve has never stopped, Still producing and DJing decades later, he has a huge body of work behind him and continues to release new music, including his latest LP, Ghetto Juice.

If you’ve seen Steve play before, you already know the score. If you haven’t, you’re about to get an education in proper rave music and electronic mixology.
We are beyond stoked to have Steve on board for Loose Rave Unit 2.0

If you’re not in the know check out Steve’s stuff and get acquainted.

A friendly face among the legends of Melbournes underground scene for the past eighteen years, WISER has carved her own winding path both visually and sonically - producing for short films, runways & dancefloors whilst throwing some of the most special parties Australia had to offer. Booking artists for Revolver Upstairs is one of her greatest joys, her current party “SHADOWS” champions the discovery of new unexpected sounds and challenges what a normal night out might look like; deeper, darker, & more diverse.

Although she’s only been sharing music for eight of those long years, her deep understanding of human emotion and insanely meticulous set curation has seen her play shows from Amsterdam to Taipei, London to Tokyo and a host of other lucky cities; moving people both physically and emotionally whilst gathering inspiration to share with her beloved community.

A mainstay in Melbournes illegal party scene & club circuit, WISER has an innate ability to make people feel truly free - no rules, no boundaries, just pure Loose Rave business.

Enjoy!

Cuznmatt has been dabbling in the dark arts of DJing and events since the early 2000s, setting the tone at Ace Morning, now My Aeon, with Cuznmatt and Friends Play Whatever the Fuck They Like.

More Bass came along in the 2000s, where Matt and his fucken mates continued their noble tradition of playing whatever the fuck they liked. Pretty much still are.
Hip-hop, breaks, disco, techno, sometimes even a bit of funk and soul, and the occasional dabble in drum & bass. Not much is off limits.

A regular fixture of Melbourne’s bar scene, Matt has held down an extensive list of residencies around town, including The Lame Duck, The Vic Bar and The Holy Grail, among many, many others. He’s supported the likes of Meat Katie and Stanton Warriors at Fractured parties, almost gone overboard on some boats, played Earthcore, and made regular appearances at Folk Rhythm and Life Festival.
Fast forward to 2024 and Matt co-founded Dive Bar Disco.

In 2026, he continues to pop up in bars all over town and has launched Loose Rave Unit, a party series with a distinctly grittier edge, digging deep into heavy old-school and new-school techno, acid house, electro and breaks.
'
At Loose Rave Unit 2.0, cuznmatt goes back-to-back once again with Pablo Disco, bringing a stack of filthy techno and breaks to the decks, spanning old school and new school, with acid running liberally through the mix. 🙂
