Sometimes you just need to appreciate the wins in life cus damnnnn. I går udgav vores elskede veninde @farmornana sin debut digtsamling hos @forlagetgyldendal and yessss that deserves a post what a MAGICAL day!!! Det var en af de smukkeste dage at være vidne til, fra hvor mange mennesker der mødte op for at støtte (Gyldendal havde sagt der kom 40, og der kom 200), til hvor symbolsk bogreceptionen var. Det var en reception der var loud, insisterende, smuk, African, dyb, sårbar og mest af alt FUCKING ÆGTE. I know Gyldendal ain’t NEVER seen a celebration like yesterday. Det var et statement om retten til sin plads, uden at conform, uden facade og uden forbehold. Jeg var så heldig at få lov til at holde en tale, hvor jeg fortalte lidt om mig og Nanas rejse i vores venskab. Hvordan vi startede i klasse sammen i 1.g som de eneste to sorte piger på en skole af 1000 elever i en lille konservativ by, og samtidig blev hinandens skjold og talerør. Hvordan det endte med at redde og udfolde vores gymnasieoplevelse at, endelig for første gang i ens liv, have én at spejle sig i. Hvordan Nanas bog skaber et univers, hvor man føler sig holdt om, forstået, underholdt, sørgmodig og joyful. Smukke beskrivelser af svære diaspora følelser og oplevelser, familiekærlighed, internalized western lense AND BLACK JOY. Every win of your close friend should definitely feel like a win of your own, and wow den pride, unexplainable🥹 Nana you did that. Er stadig høj på alle de endorfiner fra i går. New apartment, new tennis club, new semester, new challenges , new sibling bonding experiences (put my little brother right to work and sent a video to mom lol) and new summer ended. May life continue to be as transformative as this last season<3 by @loote_argo

Got my pictures from the last few months developed and it’s wild how life just flourished when I expected it the least<3 Sitting here realizing that I’ve cried more out of gratitude the last couple of months than I think I’ve done my whole life. So thankful and grateful for all the hard lessons I get to learn, and the beautiful, well rounded, intelligent, amazing people I get to share it with.
Life will test you and then give you, not only your flowers - but a garden when you are open and aligned. Open to be judged, seen, criticized, loved, hated, vulnerable, scared, uncertain, uncomfortable, carefree, brave and open to give a piece of yourself.
Connecting with yourself and others, having deep scary conversations with your friends about things you’ve suppressed, starting a nice conversation with a stranger if the opportunity presents itself, extending love and kindness in whatever form to whoever needs it, sitting alone on a bench for a few hours to just enjoy existing and the list goes on.
It’s truly beautiful and shame free. Fearing being “cringe” or judged is really a prison. Hugs to everyone and I hope love extends to every person reading this🫂 by @loote_argo

Realized when making this post that I haven’t posted for a year…My feed really feels like a life of the past and apparantly year 23 was not profound enough to permantly post about lol anyways this one deserves a long caption🤎

How year 24 is looking so far🤍 the year I transcended into my womanhood, trusting my intuition and growing into an adult🫂Everything feels like a blessing waiting to happen, and also feeling so blessed with the amazing community I have around me.
Community is a “hey I thought about you wish you everything good you deserve” text, community is pouring into each other, community is always being able to rely on people to be there for you and vice verca.
Community is when your best friend’s parents offer their HOUSE for your birthday celebration and us ending up with almost no pictures (even brought my camera and forgot all about it💀😭) because we just enjoyed each others presence in real time. I’ve really come to experience the love that women bring cus what would my life be without the abundence of the community I have with my fellow women, who always check up on me, who always tell me how loved I am, and who work from a primary source of love that never runs out.
I love loving the people around me because love feels like a constant recycling system between us - always given and received. Feel so thankful, blessed and surrounded by people who show up and who I get to show up for as well. Who knows what it means to nurture a relation with action, compassion, empathy and care.
This post is more a thank you to all the people around me, than a 24th birthday celebration post of myself. I hope I get to have these people around me for the rest of my life <3 by @loote_argo
