This summer Root&Rise will be hosting Danielle Sachs as one of the first of our creatives in residence! 💜

With Danielle we will build and decorate our own small cakes, and learn the art of junk journaling! We’ll draw inspiration from the beauty of La Petite-Marche to respond to our environment and inner world as we create 🫶🏼

Danielle will be at Root&Rise August 25th-30th

Registration is available at the link in our bio 💜

This week we will be highlighting our creative in residence: Danielle Sachs!

Dani is a part of our inspiring creatives in residence program. Through this program creative people have the opportunity to stay here at the château and share their unique skills with our community here at Root&Rise! 💜

Dani is an incredible cake artist, and we are so excited to have her here this summer! Stay tuned as we’ll be sharing more about Dani this week and the activities she will be hosting during her time with us 💜

✅ Save this if France + cake + creative summer camp sounds like your dream too!

I’ll be a resident artist at @__rootandrise__ in the French countryside August 25–30, 2026… teaching cake baking and decorating in a literal château 😱

Root & Rise is a 5-night, 6-day summer camp retreat in the French countryside designed for women and nonbinary adults. Centered on creativity, connection, and actually getting to rest.

💭 Think art, food, workshops, nature, and community… all with only 30 participants so it stays intimate and intentional.

✨I’ll be there teaching cake classes (obviously), but also just soaking in the magic of creating, connecting, and being in such a beautiful space ✨

Honestly… still not over the fact this is real 🥺

Bright and EXTRA just like you 💅🏼

In case you haven’t heard it lately: You’re working hard, you’re growing, you’re amazing, keep going, you got this ✨🩷💛🧡

Tell them I’m legal 😚🫢

I giggled when my client asked for this 18th birthday cake and sent me over a list of the smoke shows her daughter wanted included 😆

Who would be on your cake?

Quick and easy cupcake toppers 🧁 Perfect for when you can’t find the design your client needs. Like these unicorn pool floaty donuts🦄 🍩 😁

✅These easy DIY toppers are made with:
• Designs created in Canva
• Cricut’s “Print then Cut” feature
• 60lb card stock
• Toothpicks
• A little tape

That’s it! In just a few minutes you can turn simple cupcakes into something that looks custom and party-ready. Perfect for birthdays, showers, and themed orders.

📌Save this idea for your next order of custom cupcakes.

If decorating feels impossible, move things around to make it easier. I like elevating my turntable on a cake pan when I’m piping, or sitting at a bar stool when I’m doing a lot of time consuming details.

What’s your biggest pain in the butt when decorating?

When the cake is tall but the box is… not 😅

💤 I have not slept and this audio was probably recorded from under the sea?

✅One base + two lids + Staples = a tall cake box hack that saves the day

✅No panic. No crushed frosting.

✍🏻Save this for your next tall cake!

A sweet surprise times TWO 💕💕 Twin gender reveal cakes were the perfect excuse to go all out! Ombré buttercream, assorted chocolates, and playful elements that still feel elevated.

If you want to make cakes with a similar design, think beyond just the colors:
• mix textures (Smooth and textured buttercream, chocolate bars, candies, dragees, acrylic elements)
• keep the palette soft so the reveal pops 💙🩷
• balance chaos with intention ✨

This is your sign to try new design styles! Mix and match elements, play around with color! 🩷💛💜🩵🧡

Which detail is your favorite? What details would you add?

How much should you charge for cakes and cupcakes? 🍰 It's a question I get all the time, and the answer's not 'just copy Walmart's prices' 😂

➡️ Good news: my Cake Pricing Spreadsheet is on sale for $10 (reg. $45) for a limited time!

Comment 'pricing' for the link! ⬅️

✅ Good pricing covers your time, expertise, supplies, overheads, and profit margin. I share my pricing to help normalize pricing transparency.
