BREAK DOWN THE WALLS.

The ones they built around you. The ones you learned to build around yourself. Stop shrinking to fit somebody else’s idea of who you’re allowed to be.

Dig deeper. Take up space. Become everything they hoped you wouldn’t.

You were never born to be contained. by @lordchilla

WHO’S NEXT?

Look closer.

Get off...

What is he doing?

Why nails?

He should just stop, he doesnt know what he is doing, I know this to be true.

A bull?

Pretend like you didn't see it ok.

Lot going on here

He never done this before, I know because I made sure of it.

Looks like someone got....

Sorry. Embrace, Stand back, or resent.

Its coming. taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @lordchilla

We’ve cooked up something special for next week’s midweek set…

LORD CHILLA i͎s͎ DEEP CUT DADDY
ᴅᴇʙᴜᴛ ɴɪɢʜᴛʙʟᴏᴏᴍ ᴅᴊ ꜱᴇᴛ
WEDNESDAY // 08✭26✰26 // 9PM➟1AM

Deep Disco ± R&B Cuts → House Grooves ✜ Groovy Indie ✰ B-Sides ∞ Forgotten Favorites

We’re so excited to welcome local legend + man about town @lordchilla New Orleans-based DJ, artist, writer, and nightlife curator known for his work in underground electronic music scenes, blending genres like New Orleans bounce, ghetto tech, and baile funk.

We know he needs no introduction, we’re rolling out a proper acknolwedgement for his first set at the bloom.

Deep Cut Daddy is built around the records that don’t always get the spotlight the B-sides, deep album cuts, forgotten favorites, left-field grooves, and songs you forgot you loved. The idea is to dig past the obvious and connect the dots between deep disco, R&B, house, groovy indie, and everything in between.

Join us next week for a good time, great cocktails, and more midweek magic. by @lordchilla

WHAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT LORD CHILLA… 🎂 🤍👑

Before the late nights, packed dance floors and Midnight Assembly, Lord Chilla was a gifted student academically and artistically, receiving offers from several prestigious art schools, including Savannah College of Art and Design.

He became a frequent collaborator with @afthenaysayer, performing everywhere from The Joy Theater to BUKU Music + Art Project.

He helped organize a highly controversial Black-only party alongside @onewhopaints and Al Tee, creating intentional space for Black people before that conversation became fashionable.

He even shot a television pilot called The Chill Factor with Blaze Like Fyre, Photo Aziz and @onewhopaints

Then, for approximately nine years, Lord Chilla disappeared from the public eye.

During that time, he became a father, built a family, supported mutual-aid requests, invested in other people’s dreams, survived real life, studied the culture from a distance and quietly gathered the resources, experience and audacity required for his next chapter.

There are also unconfirmed reports that he was abducted by aliens. 👽

Today, he is the co-founder of Midnight Assembly alongside @marsthevampire, where his number-one mission is using his platform, resources, and relationships to push Black artistry toward the visibility, recognition and mainstream success it deserves.

Help us wish @lordchilla a very happy birthday and come celebrate with us this Friday at Poor Boys with DJ Swisha. 🎉🪩🍾

Drop a birthday message for Chilla in the comments and meet us on the dance floor. 🖤
