Lorem Ipsum’s chapter at Refuge Hotel 1101 Central Ave has come to an end.
•
When Lorem Ipsum first opened, it was meant to be a conceptual residency. A place to experiment, take risks, and see what was possible.
•
None of us imagined what it would become.
•
Because of all of you, Lorem grew into something far greater than a cocktail bar.
•
It became a place for conversation, creativity, music, celebration, and community.
•
Over the next few weeks, I’d like to look back, celebrate the story we wrote together, and take my time showing you what we built.
•
We’ll revisit the cocktails, the people behind the bar, the artists, the collaborations, the music, and the countless memories that made Lorem what it was, what it is, and what it will always be.
•
If you were ever a part of Lorem Ipsum, thank you.
•
We’d love for you to share your favorite Lorem Ipsum memory in the comments, or DM us your Lorem Ipsum photos and videos.
•
After we’ve looked back, we’ll show you our future.

BLUEPRINT: Social Media Strategies That Work, hosted by @gabby.myers14 sponsored by @posh.vip at @loremipsum.bar . A room full of creators, organizers, and entrepreneurs exchanging ideas that will outlive the next viral moment. Expert panel @perrinedeshield x @thadailyspecial

No gimmicks. No chasing trends. Just honest conversations about what actually moves communities forward. The strongest communities aren’t built by posting more—they’re built by connecting better.

It’s Thursday, it’s still Black Music Month, and Harry Allen—journalist, activist, educator, cultural critic, and longtime Public Enemy insider is in town. Don’t miss TONIGHT’s talk: Shooting the Enemy, a photo-lecture that traces his life in hip-hop through the images he made along the way.

Featuring rare photographs of the people who would become Public Enemy before they were a band, the presentation combines storytelling, cultural history, and visual archive. Many of the photographs are held in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and have appeared in magazines, books, and television documentaries.

Part memoir, part visual archive, Shooting the Enemy offers a unique window into hip-hop’s origins through the lens of one of its most trusted chroniclers. And—at it’s core, this is a conversation about creative practice and how to build one’s vision with limited resources!
